Someone Or Something Saved My Life

This takes place in Pampa Texas, my home town. I never knew who or what cared enough to pull me back but, I am still around.

I was on my way home from school and was walking down main street. There were a line of small stores and an ally leading to the parking lot in the back. I was looking in the store windows and not paying attention. When I came to the alleyway, I was ready to step out into the passageway when I felt something grab my arm and turn me completely around. I looked for the person but no one was there. As I turned back to walk on a huge truck raced out of the alleyway and if I had not stopped when I did I would have been killed. I looked for someone to thank but could see no one on my side of the street. I have never told about this until now.

I am not sure if this other story has to do with ghosts but, something or someone was again watching out for me or I would not be writing this.

My life was again in danger in 1972. I lived in Cleveland Ohio at the time. I was married with two children and one on the way. I was seeing my doctor regularly and doing all the things to have a healthy baby. It was about two weeks until Thanksgiving and I began to have severe pains in my side and was running a high fever. My husband took me to the hospital and they said I had appendicitis. My first concern was for my unborn baby. The doctors assured me it would be fine. After the operation they said they could see the baby in my womb and that it was thriving and well. I was satisfied. Two weeks later I went into labor, hard labor. My husband rushed me to the hospital and the baby was born, but it was still born.

The doctors told me I had been carrying the child for three months and it was already dead. The doctor said I should have died. How I survived I still don't know.

A Visit From My Aunt Vernell

Hi guys I'm James and my aunt just recently passed away Saturday on March 6, 2010. I swear that I was not asleep when this happened.

I was sitting on my bed talking to the love of my life, Adriana, as I looked up I saw someone standing in the door way. I was telling Adriana that I felt like someone was watching me and she was all like baby you just over reacting. I let it go... About fifteen minutes later I saw my Aunt Vernell come through my door and I'm trying to talk to her. I asked her when she got out the hospital but she smiled and said see you later baby. This was something she always said to me after I left from visiting her. 2 minutes after that I got a call from my grandma saying that my aunt had passed away. It was so heart breaking because my grandmother had seen her to (my grandmother can see ghosts as well this is where I get it from).

Some people say this gift is a curse I take it as a gift, because I got to see my aunt one last time and my father. So you guys who have this gift be thankful I am because I know now I am here to help the deceased find their way home. Most people would be scared to do this but not me. I love doing this and I'm also into the ghost hunting idea. So whoever reads this if you are willing to start a ghost hunting group let me know.

Whispering Girl

I personally do believe in paranormal activity and what not. I've had a couple experiences with seeing ghost, or even talking to them. It actually scares me, so I try to block it out, but this past experience is the scariest for me so far. My boyfriend and I we're on our way out early in the morning. I would say about 6:00 am. As I was walking into the front room from the hallway I heard a girl whisper in my ear. I didn't get the chance to actually catch what she said, but she was there. As I turned around I got really bad chills throughout my body. My boyfriend had asked me what was wrong, and I told him. He started to make fun of me, and started turning out the lights and what not.

Later on that night my 15 month old daughter was extremely tired, and wouldn't go to sleep. She was sitting on my lap, and in the direction of her toys she was staring and kept saying "no, no. No, no." Typically, my daughter doesn't like to sit with me or cuddle; she tends to keep to herself, unless she wants something. But she would not get off my lap, and didn't want to lie down in her bed. She stayed up until about 2:38 that night, crying. I gave her Tylenol and baby tablets', thinking it was her teeth. She wouldn't eat, and she wouldn't stay in her bed. Finally she went to sleep though.

The next morning I was on my way to school. When my boyfriend doesn't work he stays home with the baby. So they stay asleep while I'm getting ready. When I came home later on that day, my boyfriend had called me into our room, and said he had something to tell me. He said that morning, he heard our daughter start to wake up, and so he was about to get up when he felt something holding him down. He said it felt like something was on his back, and he tried to get up, but it wouldn't let him. Then he said a girl whispered in his ear and said "Your under the devils spell." he tried to yell out for someone but couldn't talk either. Then finally he said it felt like it got off him, and he got up.

Now, lately I've been seeing figures out of the corner of my eye, or my rearview mirror, but like I said I try to ignore those things because they scare me. I'm not too sure what it is, or if it's evil, or what. I've been praying, and thinking about bringing someone to bless our home. I'm actually not to sure what to do about the situation. Hopefully it goes away.

After My Dad Pass Away

A little bit about myself I'm Hmong so I do believe in ghost and stuff. This event took place in Saint Paul, MN.

My father passed away on May 19th 2005, about two weeks before I graduated from high school. Now I'm 23 years old and finally decided that I could maybe share the experiences I had. You see my father passed away in his sleep at my older sister's house. So for the whole entire month that we prepared for my father's funeral my sister and her family wouldn't step a foot into their home. They stayed with my mother and us at our two level 3 bedroom apartment. Since both of my parents divorced we stayed with our mother and occasionally on the weekends my father comes over.

After we laid my father to rest, my mother urged my sister to go back home but she wouldn't leave. Since it was summer time having a lot of people together is very fun and we all needed that. For some odd reason during the day everything would be fine nothing happened. But at night after midnight things get creepy. No only did I see and hear things, but my whole family did too. So we all decided to sleep together in the living room, since it was huge.

One night I heard the screen door on the porch door opening. I'm thinking like that's got to be the wind, but there was no wind that night. I always try to substitute things when I know it isn't true. Then suddenly I heard the door knob jiggle like somebody was trying to get inside but they were locked out. At this time I got so scared and I tried to see if anyone was awake and hearing this, but no one was. Then I pulled the cover over my head and fell asleep, the next thing I knew it was morning.

Then the next couple nights nothing happened. So I decided to tell my family about what I heard. It was weird but my family said they all heard it too, but on different nights. My mother joked and said, "It must have been your father...hahahha..." But to us it wasn't a joke momma.

That night I heard the same thing again, but after the screen door opened this time there was knocking on the door and I heard my father's voice. He said to open up the door its cold out there and hurry up. To my amazement some of my siblings were awake and they heard that too. We just all stayed frozen and stared at each other for awhile.

Then for many nights we kept on hearing the same thing over and over again until morning this went on for about month then it stopped. My father was a smoker so he loved to sit on the porch door every time he smoked when he came over. I sometimes wonder if that was his favorite spot and he couldn't let go.

Of course I would also have dreams of my father coming home and he isn't dead. My family we are out on picnics or fishing trips like we use to go on every summer. It felt so real, and I even asked my father if he was dead. He replied back that he isn't dead and he will always be with us. Thinking about all this when I woke up it made me feel happy, but sad at the same time.

My mother had told me that when you just die, you sometimes don't know that you are dead so you linger on. So that's why my father comes and knocks on the door for us to open it for him. But maybe he realized it that's why it stopped.

My Door Is Making Me Mad

My older sister's door has been shaking for the past couple nights. And now I find that it shakes even during the day! I was home with my mother in the other room, sick, and the door suddenly starts shaking violently. I cannot see it, but I hear it and a mixture of fear and irritation courses through me.

It shakes around nine PM when my sister is in her room and when I am in mine and sometimes at other times as well. Not only is it irritating me but it is also scaring my older sister. This has just recently started happening around the time I got a cold from my friend and I want so much for an explanation before I do something... Stupid, for lack of a better word, and get mad and yell at the door like it can yell back.

It stopped, once when I said "My God! Stop shaking!" I was extremely irritated with a head cold and a throbbing headache and yelled at the door. Which might be ridiculous to some but I have yelled at inanimate objects before. And they didn't do anything to me.

It happened repeatedly throughout the day. Sometimes quietly, and sometimes not so quietly. I have gone up the door, grabbed the handle and shaken the door. And it doesn't sound the same. It does not sound as if something is trying to get into the room or open the door. It sounds as if it is simply shaking and not only is it irritating me, it is arousing my curiosity.

Some Paranormal Experiences

I have not yet experienced any serious activity but here are a few things (from not so scary, to REALLY SCARY)

#1: One night I was on the computer when very quickly what looked like an Orb flew past me and disappeared into the wall.

#2: I was in the living room at night time when a very quick flash of light appeared outside (there wasn't a storm)

#3: When I was little I was watching TV, when a silver mass floated past in the kitchen (I was tired)

#4: Last year my mum (Trish) was asleep on a mattress by my bed, when suddenly she woke up and said someone touched her on the side.

I saved the scariest one for last

#5: about five years ago my mum saw her recently deceased grandmother

Near my sister's room door, then it said "don't worry Trish I'm in a better place".

And one time when my mum was driving at night at the site of a recently fatal car crash, when she saw a transparent woman in a white dress.

Thank you for reading my and my mums stories I hope you enjoyed them, Please COMMENT. If I experience any thing else I will post it. Does anyone here like the paranormal and is also a Christian, if you are please post a comment.

One time I had a dream that my mum was a ghost and I chased it into the bathroom and it flew out the window. Does this mean anything?

What Am I Dealing With

I don't remember the first time that I had a ghostly encounter. But around the time I was 11 years old. I'm now 21 now. My aunt and her family came back to live with us in Texas. When I was younger I would always hear her talking about ghost and different occurrences, but I didn't think twice about any of it and it wasn't until they came back here to live with us that I started to notice strange things happening.

I remember my cousins and I would stay up late every night talking and doing kid stuff, every night around 2am we would try get ready to go to sleep. We would be lying down, the house would be dead quiet and then all of a sudden we would hear heavy footsteps on the wood floors and we knew that nobody was over there. For some reason it never scared any of us and as an adult now I live in the same house alone and to this day I still hear things like the shower curtain moving just random noises at any time of day.

Now I have never seen anything but several people have seen a shadow type figure. First it was my sister when she was younger she said it was a tall man's figure in my mom's closet at night. She saw it every night for about a week and I honestly remember her crying about it. Once her friend said she saw a figure under her bed and that's the last time she was around then most recently my younger cousin was staying with us for the summer he said that he saw a dark figure coming towards him in my grandmothers old room.

This house is full of stories that go back to before I was born. I was told stories of one time when one of my older cousins was living with my grandmother for a while. He was working nights so he would sleep during the days. One day something woke him up and when he looked over towards his feet he said that he saw I guess little gnomes or troll's I'm not too sure exactly but it was something of that nature. My mom told me that she saw a shadow once and she's not a believer at all. She told me that she was here taking care of my grandmother like every day she would come home during her break to take care of her and this happened to happen right before my grandmother passed away. Well it was just my mom and grandmother. My mom went into the next room and as she was walking back into the kitchen she saw a shadow of a man standing behind my grandmother's wheelchair. She told me that it was my grandfather watching over her.

There was one time that I was truly scared. One night I fell asleep on the couch. I woke up around midnight. I felt like I was being held down. I could not move for the life of me. I could only move my eyes. But the week before I had heard what sounded like chanting in that same room as I'm writing this it still gives me chills to this day.

I wrote this to share my story with you guys and see what you think of it I have plenty more experiences to share with you guys.

Conversation With Sara

My name is Tanya: I was raised around Ouija boards so that is how I grew a strong interest in them. About a year ago I was living in Florida at the time in the middle of packing up my house my friend had come over to help me out and she noticed my board sitting on my bed in the box. She began telling me how she has never used a board before and was asking me about it. So, we went a head and started channeling. It was fine for a while when a person came through and spelled out "MAZ". I was thinking that this was quite odd. I asked what was their name was, their reply was - MAZ and then, the board started going crazy spelling the name over and over again. Later we were able to figure out the name MAZ was the person's last name.

It was a girl, her first name was Sara. During our conversation Tab had asked her if she would ever show herself, I shook my head telling her NO don't ever ask that question you are inviting them in! Tab then asked how many people are in the room? Sara said 3 she was including herself as the 3rd person. Tab was like Yeah right! Sara then started giving us a detailed description of what my room looked like. Silence - Then she said, Cat coming out of closet! I looked towards the closet and sure enough there was my cat. She then told us she was standing next to us. I asked her how many people TOTAL were in my house. She said, 6. Boy on computer in other room. We got up to see and sure enough, I gasped in disbelief. Tab asks where is home? Sara's reply "YOUR HOME" Tab asked My home? She said NO, Tanya's Home. I asked her, why my home? She said because I feel safe here. She didn't seem nasty or anything. I asked her, are you going back to your home? She said, NO. Then she said "dog is at the door". I opened my door and my dog was standing there. I was like this is way too much.

I closed out and said my ending prayer as I always do! That night I went to sleep and I was woken up by this horrid smell and someone poking me, I couldn't breath either it startled me. The smell was a dirty muddy smell. It was so horrid I couldn't stand it. I never smelt something so bad in my life.

My husband appeared restless and was moving about in the bed. Now, every time I channel with my board guess who is always there waiting for me? SARA! She won't leave. Sara is always like, HI TANYA been waiting for you. Really, I don't believe she is bad because it's been a year. It just seems that she wants someone to talk to. I don't know what to say, other then that out of my 25 years of channeling I have never experienced anything bad such as an assault.

Henry

I wonder if ghosts or spirits can actually follow people. I think it is happening to my family. We used to live in Chicago a few years ago and we KNOW our apartment was haunted by a ghost of a teenage boy. It started with odd noises and stuff being moved around. My husband who didn't believe in ghosts at the time actually saw him first. Henry was the name I gave to the ghost for some odd reason. My husband also used to hear him calling my husbands name too. But Henry was helpful to. When we overslept he would lift the mattress at the foot of the bed and drop it until we woke up. Also he played with our little French bulldog, swinging open the doors to get his attention then slam it when he got to close.

Well in 2007 we moved back to my husband's home state of New Mexico. We settled in our new home and the incidents started happening as before. The mattress is rising and falling, whistling, shadows, and the upstairs bathroom being "used". Toilet flushing water running. A few days ago the door opened from the kid's room, closed, bathroom door opened then closed and then my bedroom door opened and slammed. No windows were open in the house or heat or air con on.

Everyone sees shadows and hears things. It's an everyday occurrence. My husband sees him a lot, peeking out of doorways when he is on the computer. A few nights ago I was lying in bed with my dogs and someone got really close to my ear and whispered "Shhhhh". I just told Henry goodnight and tried to fall asleep. I'm sure it's our Henry and I'm glad he is still with us he has become another member of the family.

Ghosts in my Closet

I am writing this today to tell you of the ghost and things I saw as a young child. I think I must have been around 4 years old. I'm not sure, when I had my 1st sighting.

It took place in the house my mother still lives in today. If I was to sleep with my bedroom door or closet door open, I would see ghost. The house is a 3 bedroom home and I had this happen in both of the rooms I used to sleep in. I remember always being scared and having to pull the covers over my head to go to sleep. If my bedroom door was open I would see ghostly people walking in through the doorway. If my closet door was open I would see people in my cloths. This happened as far back as I can remember. Finally as I got older I made sure the doors were closed.

I also had a cousin that had a grandmother and great grandmother that passed away and we were lying in the grass on the side of my house looking at clouds. We were talking about how mean her great grandmother was. We both saw a dagger falling from the sky. When we heard it hit and stick in the ground between us, we looked and nothing was there. We both got the heck up and ran in our houses scared to death. She still remembers that until this day.

We also had this weird thing happen to us when we were talking about the same great grandmother. We were both lifted up off the ground. Our bodies were at a slant, feet off the ground. It was as if a cold wind came and picked us up. After we were back on the ground again we both ran home and were scared.

I remember having déjà vu all the time. I still have it sometimes. I used to dream dreams that were so real, I would wake up and it felt like they really happened. I still have dreams like that from time to time. I remember dreaming of snakes as a child and I could feel them crawling all over me. I have had several dreams that I have dreamed more that once over a period of years.

I think the thing that scared me the most, is what I saw in my house my 1st husband and I built. I was pregnant for our 4th child and we were having marital problem. I chose to sleep on the cough in the living room. I was scared and felt as if someone else was watching me. I saw a dark figure of a girl in the kitchen. I was so scared I went back and slept in our bed with my husband at the time.

I know there are so many things that took place with me as a child and even some as an adult. I would love to be able to hear what a true medium has to say about me. Well until later I will enjoy reading about others who have had similar things happen to them.

We Helped Her Move On

It all happened at the end of last month, late at night. My brother and I were home alone, my mom having gone out to visit her boyfriend, and I was getting ready for bed when he stopped me in the hall while saying he wanted to show me something. Most of the lights in the house off, so it had something to do with his toy light saber. After a moment I managed to get him to leave me alone so I could go into my room, but as he walked to the end of the hall and towards the living room he came running back down the hall to where I was, pale as a sheet.

"What's wrong?" I asked as he kept his eyes on the other end of the hall. "I saw something in the kitchen," Was the reply I got, so I asked him what it looked like. My brother, Drew, described a black figure with no particular gendered shape to it that had a pair of red eyes. Now, my brother has a pretty wild imagination and is always seeing all sorts of things, so I told him to wait outside my bedroom door as I checked on something.

Once in my room I grabbed my pendulum and relaxed myself, asking it to show me 'yes' and 'no' before it stopped and I asked if my brother was lying. I'm not a master of using my pendulum yet, but it was never inaccurate before so I was slightly surprised when the answer I got was 'no'. I asked if what my brother saw was a ghost, the answer was 'yes' so I asked if it was a negative one... Another 'yes'.

My first thought to that was 'crap, something bad finally got into the house', but I remained calm as I asked if whatever it was was still in the house, in the kitchen. 'Yes'.

I left my room while holding onto my pendulum, telling Drew what I'd just done as I headed to the kitchen with him right behind. The living room light was on, so I could see into the kitchen but I couldn't see the ghost at all. I asked the pendulum if the ghost was still in the kitchen, got a 'yes', and then firmly stood my ground.

"Whoever, or whatever you are, you are not welcome in this home. Leave!" After my demand all was silent and still for a moment until I lifted my pendulum and asked it if the ghost had gone. It had, but I had this certain uneasy feeling in my stomach so I asked Drew to follow me to my room. We both sat on the bed as the door closed and I started to as questions about the ghost, my pendulum giving me the answers.

"Is the ghost in the house at all?" No. "Is it still on the property?" Yes. "Does it wish to hurt us at all?" No. "Is it mad?" 'No'. At this point I got confused, because instantly if I think of negative spirits, I think of something bad. Mentally beating myself up for a moment for being so conclusive without knowing more facts, I asked it the first negative emotion that came to my mind "Is the ghost sad?" The reply I got was yes.

I paused in my session for a little regrouping, my brother dead silent beside me as he watched me take in a breath and start to ask a few more questions.

"Is the ghost a man?" No. "So it's a woman?" Yes. "Does she want to move on, is that why she came?" 'Yes'. I looked around my room as an idea suddenly struck me; we have ghosts of our own... Maybe they wanted to help out.

So I asked "Are the ghosts naturally living on the property here in the room?" Yes. "Do they want to help the woman?" 'Yes'. I got to thinking again and thought, since my mom is a ghost medium, maybe there was something we could do...? My pendulum started circling in the 'yes' motion and I made up my mind; we were going to do everything we could to help her pass on. "Could one of you go out and bring the woman back inside? We're willing to help as best we can." My pendulum started moving in the yes motion as I turned to my brother and smiled. I felt relaxed, better that I didn't let my assumption with her being evil stick as she wandered the world with no help. "Are you alright with this? I'll see if she's willing to stay here until mom comes back and then we can ask her what to do." He nodded slightly; I could tell that a strange calmness had washed over him as well. "Yeah, I just hope there's something we can do..." I told him not to worry and we waited in silence for a few moments, until he spoke up, "The room just got colder." I only noticed it slightly, since my room has always been the coldest one in the house, but I instantly got to work.

I apologized for being so pushy earlier and telling her she wasn't welcome without knowing that she wanted help. After that I asked her if she was alright with staying in my room and my room alone as we waited for my mom to come home... The only conditions for us trying to help her move on. She was and I started up another little question session.

We found out that she had been drawn to the house because of my brother's positive energy and the fact that he reminded her of someone she knew; her son. Drew had me ask if her son was still alive and the reply was 'yes' as I suddenly got another idea.

"Hey Drew, would you be alright with her following you until mom got home?" He gave me a slightly strange look but nodded his head. "I wouldn't mind." With that I asked if she wanted to follow Drew, got a yes, and then had him set down the ground rules he wanted. His only condition was this, "You can follow me, just don't scare me."

After that I confirmed the ground rules once more and everything settled down as Drew left my room and I went to bed after leaving a message on my mom's cell phone about the situation. In the morning, as my mom came home, my brother was sound asleep in bed while we talked it over. Surprisingly, though she usually ignored the ghosts in our home, she was excited about everything. I asked her if she sensed the woman after bringing her up to date and she said she couldn't. The woman was either gone or she just wasn't sensing her... I got curious and fetched my pendulum.

"Did the woman move on?" The answer... Was yes. I guess simply being around my brother was enough for her because she was gone time morning. My brother asked me about it when he woke up and I told him the news, but he was happy to hear it. It was a rather exciting experience but just typing about it right now has me as calm as I was on that night, after finding out the truth about her wanting to move on and actually being able to help in some way.

Just thought I would share this experience with you all, since it now holds a deep meaning to both my brother and myself.

The Man In The Mirror And Other Paranormal Happenings

The title of my story refers to one of the most recent "encounters" that I've experienced, so I'll save that for the end.

Alright let's start with the oldest experience I can remember, I was about 6 and my cousin had received a Ouija board for her birthday. Most of my family agreed to take part in a "séance", as I eagerly made my way to one of the spots in the circle my mom made sure to stop me and say "You're too young to do this; you're going to get scared, let's stand in the corner over there". Anyway, they started playing and after a few fake answers made possible by my uncle, the lights switched on and then off again. All I remember after that is all of us running out of the room and the Ouija board being thrown away in the dumpster down the street.

When I was 10 my grandma moved to a new house. Most of the family went to help them out (my uncle and his wife also live with her). At one point while we were having lunch together at the table, one of the diamond shaped mirrors on the opposite side of the house just dropped Instead of shattering, the mirror got 2 diagonal cracks running down the center making an "X" shape. Honestly, that house was extremely creepy... On one of the nights I slept over (age 13) I heard footsteps rushing down the stairs. When I looked over, no one was there. My uncle was still working, as was his wife, her daughter (my age) was in the kitchen doing the dishes, and my grandma was already asleep upstairs in her room. That same house also had a strange dark red mark on the staircase wall, it disappeared 2 weeks later. No they didn't paint.

Now for things that happened in my house-

*3 years ago I was walking to the bathroom and on the way I have to walk in front of my mom's room. As I pass by I notice that she jolts up to look at me. When I ask her what happened she told me that she could've sworn some guy was walking right in back of me. This was enough to make me forget about going to the bathroom ha-ha.

*As I was saying goodbye to my neighbor one day, we both saw a white cat running up the stairs (2nd floor apartment). Now this wasn't that strange seeing as our neighborhood has tons of stray cats... A few problems though...1-all the strays here are grey 2-it ran straight at the door where it completely vanished.

*On another night, I was with the same neighbor, saying bye again. I noticed a guy on a motorcycle pulled up on the street, since it was dark and nobody here had a motorcycle I told her to go back inside for a few minutes. The guy looked up at us and we started to go back inside my house. I looked back and he was right behind us. Mind you, there are 24 steps to get there, plus the little walk way. I sprinted my last few steps to get inside shutting the screen door behind me and pulling out my phone to call the cops if needed. The guy had vanished, no door had opened, no motorcycle sounds were made... He vanished motorcycle and all.

*A few months ago, I pulled an all nighter to finish a project due the next day. At 1 AM the lights went out. It wasn't raining, my mom was asleep, and what's creepiest of them all is that the AC and fish tank filter didn't turn off even though everything was connected to the same switch on the circuit board. I decided to not give any ghosts the pleasure of seeing me freak out so I very casually picked up my phone for light to gather my things and go to the room. As soon as I unlocked it, it powered off. I got my things and did that little awkward "holy sh** there's a f**king ghost after me" run to the room where the light finally worked. When I sat on the bed, the lights went back on in the living room.

*My floors creak all over the house. Sometimes at night, I hear creaking when no one is up. I sometimes see shadows as well but I thought those might be hallucinations from lack of sleep.

*finally, the man in the mirror: A bit before the light incident, I was having lunch after I got back from school. I glanced up and noticed what looked like a face in a small mirror we have. It looked like someone had drawn a detailed picture of a scruffy man on the mirror. It had no colors; it was basically what it looks like when you smudge your finger on clean glass. The man now comes and go's.

I'm terrified of being alone in this house or well, being in this house at all once it gets dark. If I remember any more, I'll be sure to post them up. Thanks for reading. I'm sure true paranormal enthusiasts enjoyed it.

So what do you think all this means?

Do ghosts follow me?

Is it the same ghost?

What the bloody hell do they want?

Well, I'm off. 'Night

Am I Living With A Ghost?

From my last story I've had far more disturbances in my house than when I last posted up a story. Since having other experiences I began to wonder about seeing if the spirit would visit me.

One night as I was lying on my bed. The door to my room was on the left hand side of my room and I said aloud "If you're here stand in my door" I never saw anything but I definitely saw a shadow go behind my door and into my bathroom, so I quickly ran out and looked into the bathroom to find no one had been in there. I asked round the household and no one saw or has done anything.

To be honest I've never really believed in god either. But on 2-3-10 on the same night as a shadow went pass my room I saw a giant flash of light in front of my door, I never felt scared at all.

Now if you're not convinced that I saw a ghost or at lest known one was there I have one that I think you'll like. If you get frightened easily DON'T read on.

Three days after my experiences I noticed that more weird stuff has been happening like: DVD player turning on. But now I saw something. At night if you walk into my kitchen you'll find that staring out the kitchen window becomes a mirror from the darkness. When I got up for a drink I saw this black figure in a robe standing by my front door and as he was looking up at me I ran under my covers of my bed and stayed there been wanting to move ever since.

Please help me all.

Ghost Aura-residual Energy

Only once in my life, I have experienced something like these two occurrences and when I think about it, they are truly phenomenal experiences, in comparison to all my others. What transpired on this morning back in the year 1988 and later in 2006 will have some of you scratching your head with doubt, but anyway here it goes... I was at my friend's house; there were a few of us there, a typical twenty something type of night, music together with beer and a few laughs. It went late into the night, finished around 4am in the morning... I drew the short straw and found myself sleeping on the floor in the lounge room of my friend's house.

It was around 8am in the morning and I was awoken by a subtle noise... (in them days I made a habit of not opening my eyes when I woke, as it is the best way to remember our dreams when we first wake up in the morning), At that time I was having day to day premonitions, sometimes only small accounts, a couple of times life saving ones. I was laying on my left side on the floor in the lounge room, if you can picture four walls around me, if I'd open my eyes I would see the left wall and anything in that general direction.

What I could see with my eyes shut! Was what I know now as an aura, but at that time I thought it was a ghost. It was a strong glowing outline imprint of a person, perhaps one inch thick white or maybe a light blue colour; sorry can't quite remember the colour... As this ghost (what I thought at the time) moved around me, it seemed to be occupied doing something... Because I could see it moving around me with a purpose. I could also locate the noise with where I could see this ghost (aura) moving.

Now here's the incredible part! Not only could I see this ghost (what I thought) with my eyes shut; I could see it on the right hand side of the room as well. So no matter where it moved around me, I could observe its movement somehow! I was not seeing it with my eyes, there was something else within my clock work that enabled me to see what ever was moving around the room? This was not an out of body experience; I was awake with my eyes shut! There's no shame in admitting this, but I was a little scared... This went on for about a minute, I didn't want to open my eyes, and I was hoping this ghost I could see would vanish. So what I decided to do was roll over on my back hoping what ever it was, would realize it was disturbing me and move on... So as I rolled over, still with my eyes shut, I was able to still see this ghost (what I thought)... It stopped for a moment and was standing at the end of my feet looking in my direction. Part of my plan worked, but now this ghost (aura) was moving slower and softer around me, so I realized I caught its attention by moving, but it was not enough to make it leave altogether. This went on for about 3 minutes in total, then I decided (although still frightened a little) to open my eyes and face what ever it was I was seeing... When I did open my eyes, to my surprise it was not a ghost, it was my friend's wife aura, that I saw moving around, for about the previous three minutes.

But, as the clock chimed in sync with my eyes lids opening! Instantly, the aura was gone and her physical presence was in total view. She apologized for waking me up; she was just trying to tidy up the lounge room... A bit of a mess from the night before. This experience for me was a truly remarkable one and I'm interested to have your insight about this story and how I was able to see her aura move around the room in any direction with my eyes shut?

A LIVING RESIDUAL ENERGY - A few years ago, one night as I woke up for a bathroom call, I got out of my bed and walked towards the door. As I opened the door, stepping into our hallway which is about 10 meters long, the light was on so I could see quite easily in most directions. Looking to my right I saw my wife not in physical form, but in spiritual form walk out from our lounge room and walk into our kitchen area. I decided to walk towards the kitchen quickly, as I was fascinated by the possibility of making contact with her whilst she was having an out of body experience.

As I got to our kitchen I just lost sight of her, but shortly afterward I'd heard our wall in the kitchen explode with a loud bang. Something I hear a lot of especially when I've been visited by loved ones and others over the years. I felt like waking her up to validate this experience, but decided to wait to the next day to see if she could remember on her own accord... Unfortunately she couldn't remember anything, which for me was a little disappointing (Always seeking the ultimate validation) it left me to ponder what I saw.

Today reading my story ghost aura, she remembers me talking about that to her a long time ago, that's one thing at least. Now here's the question, is it possible that what I saw was her residual energy walking around our house? Because I can remember the expression on her face and her body movement, which looked to me as though she was fixated in a previous time gone by, repeating a chore.

If you remember my story, night demon or nightmare, I'd walked my house (out of my body) with an intelligent understanding of what was happening. Because she had no conscious knowledge of this experience and it was a separate one for me. Is it possible what I saw, a residual energy? Is this something others may see or hear years down the track?

Helpful Entities Living In Our Home

If you read my story about "Our haunted house", you will understand that I'm talking about the same house.

My brother just got married last December. They lived in our house (the house where I grew up) for a while. During their stay there, they never mentioned to my new sister in law about the hauntings. She may have experienced some weird things during her stay in our home. She didn't give much thought about it until now. They arrived last Saturday for a visit here in Manila at the same time, for their late honeymoon.

She said, one time she and my brother had an argument, so she slept in one of the rooms upstairs alone. While my brother slept in his room downstairs. She said, at around 5am, she woke up to the sound of someone opening the door then turned off the fan then went out again closing the door behind. She thought it was my brother who did it to wake her up since he knew that she has an early appointment that day. But she was a bit confused why my brother didn't just wake her up instead.

When she went downstairs, she saw my mom preparing breakfast. My parents wake up very early like 4am everyday. She asked my mom if she went upstairs to turn off the fan, my mom said no, that she never left the kitchen. When she asked my brother, he simply said that it was him. Well he lied and told my mom about it later. He knew right away who or what did it. He didn't want to scare his new wife. During our conversation, my brother told his wife the truth. His wife was shocked and started telling us that whenever she's alone in the house, she felt like she's not alone or someone staring at her. By the way, it was just my dad, mom, brother and sister in law in that house.

My brother then, shared another story, he was not yet married that time. One night during a blackout, he fell asleep leaving the candle burning placed on top of his dresser. He was already in deep sleep when he felt somebody shaking him, waking him up. When he finally woke up, he jumped when he saw his dresser was already on fire. Of course, he was able to quickly put out the fire. But he swore he felt someone touching him while waking him up.

My sister and I were talking over the phone 30 minutes ago. She said, maybe those spirits or entities are good ones living in our home. But even so, I still don't want them messing with me because I don't think I can ever be ready to see or hear them again. In two weeks time, we will go home to visit my parents for a week. I hope nothing paranormal happens during our stay there. I hope they will not play with my kids.

I hope you enjoy reading my story.

My Friend 'george'

When I was 12, my mother met a new man and soon married. We moved from the run down terraced house we lived in, and moved into a better area, a little cul-de-sac that was larger than we had lived in before. From the first time I stepped in that house, I never felt lonely. Even though when I was young and my mother worked a lot and my step-father was away from home during the week. I have two biological little brothers and during the week they'd go to my grandparent's house after school but I was deemed old enough to stay at home by myself.

At first it was just footsteps in the rooms upstairs, and glimpses of a man out of the corner of my eye, always leaning on the doorway and looking at me. He looked elderly to me. Soon, my relationship with my mother and step-father broke down and I spent a lot of time in my room either on the computer or reading. I started having nightmares about my real father who was not a nice man, and I secluded even further into myself.

The footsteps and glimpses carried on, even when my step-father was home.

One night my step-father, who's a military man and very hard to intimidate, went white and started shaking for no reason. He said he felt ill but kept glancing at the ceiling where the footsteps were, upstairs in my bedroom. It carried on like that until one night I had a particularly bad dream and I woke up calling out for my mother. I felt a soft brushing, like fingers, on my cheek and heard "Sh, Sh, No more crying," in ear and instantly I felt better. I felt small touches on my cheeks, which I know are now called 'Butterfly Kisses', from time to time when I was on my own and feeling down, or stressed out.

My cousin slept over one night in my bedroom and after watching some comedies, we went to sleep. I woke up to her shaking me and pushing me over so she could get in bed next to me. She said I'd been crying in my sleep so she'd turned around to see if I was okay, but there was a black mass leant over me and touching my cheek. It'd scared me but I felt comforted by it.

I named him George but I have no idea if that's his real name. It just felt right to call him something.

I don't live there anymore as I live with my fiancée, but I still think about George and occasionally feel Butterfly Kisses on my cheek when I have a bad dream.

The Staircase And My Cat

I'm not too sure where to begin as this is something I have pieced together in the past few days so please forgive me if I am hard to follow. This experience is mostly about my Cat. His name is Chaos. Like all cats Chaos is very intuitive and always knows when a presence is near. Before something bad happens, and I mean B A D supernatural or not, he will bite me once. Those are the ONLY times he has bitten me and it is rare. I'm very close with my cat and I try to understand his wants/needs and what he attempts to communicate to me (as it is often).

I recently moved in with my boyfriend who lives with 5 other guys as something bad happened in the house I was living in previously and surprise, surprise the cat bit me that day. So I'm in this new home and the guys are all very nice to me. Chaos has demonstrated certain behaviors that tell me something has been present in this house and possibly more than one. When it is just a spirit passing through he reacts curiously but nothing more. The behaviors I am now referring to are when something dark is present. It started with one of the guy's bedrooms. Chaos would not go into it, and eventually would not even be NEAR it if the door was open. The sad part is my room is right across from it. So I would open the door before bed and call "Chaos" and I'd hear his little bell at the bottom of the stairs. Hm... That's odd; he usually runs right up the stairs or sits on the other side of my door for a couple meows until it's opened. Now, he was at the bottom of the stairs, not moving an inch. Finally when I could coax him up he would walk up the stairs pressed against the wall and sprint into my room. This is how he entered my room on several nights. Very strange behavior as if he was trying to be as far as possible from the bedroom that scared him. The guy who lives in that room loves cats and has tried to bring Chaos into his room on several occasions only to have the cat run out.

Now the stairs. I have a very, very close friend whom I love dearly and trust with all my heart. I'll call her "Athena" for privacy. You may choose to believe this or not and if you having nothing nice to say about it please keep it to yourself. Athena is hypersensitive to the supernatural and can tell when something is present or has been and can usually give a pretty good description of what it is. Athena came to visit me and I asked her to come upstairs with me and tell me if she felt anything present. As we were walking up the stairs she told me there were hot footsteps, as if something dark had been walking up them. Then as we became closer to the bedroom she said her heart was racing so hard she couldn't even go into it. At this point I did not tell her THAT was the room Chaos will not go near. She described it as something very dark that likes to watch but it hides in the corner out of my view. We hung out for a while and then she had to go. Right after she closed to door and walked out of my house, Chaos was at the bottom of the stairs crouched low to the ground, ears flat hissing at the stairs. I scooped up Chaos, took him away from the stairs and tried to snuggle him better. Nope, he just jumped out of my arms and went straight back.

A week went by and the cat had been on and off about the stairs, still would not go near the bedroom. I prayed every night for the darkness to leave this home as well as salted my bedroom doorframe and window so it could not enter my room. So the day comes when there is a climax to this activity. I tried to cuddle with Chaos while my boyfriend and I were watching a movie together in bed and he would not cuddle, sit still or anything! What did he do? He bit me. One hard bite on the shoulder and then jumped off of me. My boyfriend jokingly said "see, that's what happens when you love him too much" and for some reason I believed him. Then Chaos meows at the door so I let him out of the room. Shortly after I hear meowing as he usually does from the other side of the door. I open the door and he is meowing from the bottom of the stairs instead as soon as he sees me he BOLTS into the room. I picked him up, he was TERRFIED! Eyes wide and heart thumping so hard I could feel it just from picking him up. I tried to calm him down but it didn't work. So we all go to sleep and the cat kept trying to wake me up I think but because we were tired we slept right through. We then woke up to the bed being covered in cat pee. Chaos has never done that before and I was pretty confused especially since there is a litter box in our room.

After all this Chaos is now afraid of the stairs. Specifically a certain section. He stares at it and doesn't like walking on it. I sometimes carry him up and down it when I see it's upsetting him. It's one of those days I'm hanging out with Athena and as soon as she comes over she picks up my cat and says "He's really upset" I told her about how he won't play and he's been really strange. She walks over to the stairs and tells me that there is nothing there...anymore. (I had been praying against it.) But that a few nights ago (the night the night the cat bit me) there was something dark and it scared the hell out of Chaos. What upset me most was that she said it tried to physically harm him on the staircase. Athena pointed to the section of stairs where Chaos had been very afraid of and she said "right there". As soon as I understood he started purring and went back to normal. I think it's because he just wanted me to know so I could protect him. I also think that when I heard him meowing from the bottom of the stairs was when it was happening and that is why his heart was racing and he wet our bed shortly after.

So I have salted the stairs and pray regularly and always include the safety of this home and all who are in it. I am at peace with spirits but it really upsets me that something tried to hurt my cat. Animals are innocent and it left me with a lot of questions.

Please don't ask any questions about Athena or say any nasty comments because I shared my story here to be supported and believed. Also, since I figured out what happened to Chaos he is back to normal again.

I Think It Was My Dad

Obviously still in the hospital when my grandma had to tell her. I have two stories that involve him.

My mom, my sisters and I moved into a house when I was 12, I am now 34. (I have two prior stories posted about this house) This new house of ours is in an old neighborhood and I later found out that the house we moved into was across the street from the house that my dad was killed in.

My mom's best friend (Maria) lived directly across from us and next door to the house in which my dad perished. Maria was having a birthday party for her daughter in which we were unable to attend. Everyone was outside enjoying the sunshine, music and food. Maria walked inside to get some more food to set out and saw a man walk down the hall and then disappear into a room. She found this a little odd seeing's that everyone was outside and she did not recognize him. She walked over to the room and of course it was empty. She thought this was odd but went back to her party.

She was later telling my mom about this incident, and my mom being a lover of great ghost stories started asking questions. Mom asked Maria to describe the man. She stated that he had long black curly hair, pulled back in a pony tail, light complexion, jeans, and a white t-shirt. My mother sat there and had a shocked look on her face. Maria had just described my dad (he died in '77). This was something my dad always wore.

It made me sad that I was never able to see him, but I suppose there is a reason for it.

Second dad sighting: I now live in another state, away from my family. One of my friends and I were sitting on the deck enjoying a drink and the beautiful night. My friend, whom I believe is a sensitive. She has one of the auras that spirits seem to be drawn to. We were sitting there and she asked me if I was aware that I had a spirit attached to me, she stated that she had seen him around me before and decided to ask me if I felt him. I did feel him all the time and it was a feeling of peace and warmth. I asked her to describe him to me. (I can't see him, I can only feel him) she gave the same description that Maria gave, and it gave me the chills but at the same time gave me so much peace.

Thanks so much for reading; I know it was a long one!

Experiences In The House

These are some of the stories that my parents have told me about since I was little. Enjoy!

If you read my first story then you know how my old house is. Well I was maybe a year old, and one of my dads relatives had gotten married, and they had a dance. My uncle and aunt didn't want to stay long so my dad gave them the keys to our house and told them to go ahead and sleep in the guest room. So they got there and went to bed. Around midnight maybe, they said that they heard the front door open and footsteps walking in the hallway. The next morning, when they where eating breakfast, they had told my parents that they were surprised that they got in early because they weren't expecting them to. My parents looked at them and told them that they had just got in about a few hours ago. After that, my uncle and aunt had never stayed at our house again.

My dads grandma had passed away before I was born (I have a little brother). Well my mom had told us that my brother would be in the living room and look into what use to be my room, and play peek-a-boo with someone not there. One day my dad was asking him what was he doing or who he was playing with, and my brother ignored him and kept playing. Well my dad had looked in the room, and saw his grandma, and he was like "ok your playing with grandma" but then he realized that she was dead.

We use to rent off our old house that belonged to the landlord that has been up since his great grandparents lived in it and hes a very old man. My mom has told me that right after her and my father had gotten married, she would be at home alone and she would hear the washer start whenever she wasn't doing the laundry, or she would hear the dishes fall and break. She would even walk in the room and things would be put up and cleaned.

These stories really interested me in the house but I've never gone back to it. Hope ya'll enjoyed them

The Tower of London

The Tower of London, dating back over 900 years, is known as one of the most haunted places in Britain. In 1078, the first stone section of the tower was built and commissioned by William the Conqueror. It slowly morphed over time with additional structures and towers being added. Like Alcatraz, much human suffering went on within the cold stone walls including executions, imprisonment and torture. It wasn't just reserved for the lowly criminal but for the famous and powerful as well. Social stature mattered not for the Tower of London!

One recorded haunting from the 19th century was from a Crown Jewel keeper E. L. Swifte. He and his family were having dinner in the Martin Tower when his alarmed wife spotted a moving object. Both he and his wife witnessed what looked to be a cylindrical object, resembling that of a lab tube, filled with blue bubbling fluid. Tube or not, the wife claimed it tried to grab her (not sure how a tube with no hands would do that but it gave the wife that impression). The tube seemed to be an apparition as Swifte tried to throw a chair at it but it went straight through it. Ịt then vanished into thin air.

The Tower of London Of the famous that haunt the Tower, there are reports that the headless ghost of Anne Boleyn meanders the eerie corridors of the White Tower. She was one of two wives that were ordered for execution by husband, Henry VIII; the other being Catherine Howard. Anne is also spotted in the Chapel of Saint Peter ad Vincula where she watches over her own grave under the altar. Catherine on the other hand can be heard screaming behind the door of the room she was kept in before her execution.

Other famous ghosts are Thomas A. Becket who struck down the Traitor's Gate with a crucifix, witnessed by a priest. People have also seen 12-year-old King Edward V and his 9-year-old brother Richard Duke of York in the Bloody Tower still wearing the white gowns they were imprisoned in.

Foggy figures, soldiers, and 16-year-old Lady Jane Grey haunt the battlements of the Tower of London. Whole squads of soldiers have been seen marching the grounds.

This place has no shortage of ghosts as you can see! These famous rumors intrigued the BBC and they teamed up with paranormal investigators to try and capture some of these ghostly images using special cameras that convert night-time into day and infra-red light, aka "black cameras". They also used temperature gauges, and other devices to prove or disprove some of these haunting claims. Though they could disprove much of what seemed odd about the Tower, there were still 10% of their experiences that baffled them. They also came away with "wonderful" images including unusual orbs of light. They claimed they were much less skeptical after their investigation.

The final interesting tidbit about the Tower of London is that there are always ravens present at the Tower. It is legend that if the ravens were ever to leave the tower, England would perish!

The Borley Rectory Hauntings

What binds a non-earthly soul to the physical dimension? From history and research is seems that it generally lends to a life cut short (usually traumatic in some way), or unsolved business.

There are enough allegations of emotionally charged events at the Borley Rectory, located near the Suffolk border in the eastern portion of England, to fill all of those requirements. During a séance, co-held by Harry Price, a paranormal investigator who had leased the premise in the late 30’s from Reverend Lionel Foyster and his wife, Marianne, he would uncover what he felt to be one of the strongest presences at Borley Rectory. But before we reveal the results of that séance, a brief history of the house is in order.

Borley Rectory The history of Borley Rectory begins with the building of a gothic Benedictine monastery in the 13th century. Those were not genteel times and legend has it that a monk and his lovely young love-interest, a nun from a nearby convent, were both done-in while trying to elope the establishment and start a new life together. They were captured and the monk was hung while his fiancé was walled up, alive in the cold walls of her convent. Two lovers torn apart to be isolated forever… Was it she who had been seen wafting through the garden, head bent in sorrow? Was she the girl in white who roamed the property searching for her lost love?

After its stint as a monastery, it was sold off as a residence and a rectory was soon added in 1862 by Rev. Henry Bull and his family. Reverend Bull had become pastor of Borley Church in 1862 and despite local warnings, built the rectory on a site believed by locals to be haunted. Over the years, Bull’s servants and his daughters were repeatedly unnerved by phantom rappings, unexplained footsteps and the appearance of ghosts. Reverend Bull seemed to find these happenings as wildly entertaining and he and his son, Harry, even constructed a summerhouse on the property where they could enjoy after-dinner cigars and pleasurably idle away the time waiting for an appearance of the phantom nun who roamed the property.

After Reverand Bull passed on in one of the more famous of the haunted rooms (the Blue Room), his son Harry inherited the establishment and position until he himself passed on in 1927. Following Harry’s footsteps was Rev. Guy Smith who was so unnerved by the spectral sights and sounds, that he left the rectory just one year after moving in.

After Smith’s hasty departure, the house was then inhabited by Reverend Lionel Foyster and his wife, Marianne. The house only seemed to be getting warmed up as their experiences grew in intensity and frequency. Without any explanation, they found themselves locked out of rooms, windows would suddenly smash and personal items would vanish under their noses. Ịt wasn’t uncommon for them to hear unnerving noises from all over the house. As time went on, these mischievous antics turned aggressive and Marianne was actually accosted one evening. She was thrown off her bed in the middle of the night and even slapped by invisible hands of which she was helpless to do anything about! The final straw was when she was nearly made unconscious by a mattress that was held over her face. Someone obviously didn’t like Marianne. Perhaps it was jealousy from a female ghost that caused these physical transgressions?

The involvement of Harry Price came about after a paper asked him to investigate these poltergeists activity following a popular story written by the paper. It was during his investigation that writings on the wall started to appear, usually when Marianne was present. The writing’s ghostly owner seemed more sympathetic to Marianne compared to the other ghosts as some of the messages scrawled were, “Marianne, please help get” and “Marianne light mass prayers”.

Price was more of a guest at the manor until the Foysters moved out in 1935 at which point he leased the house for a full year for deeper investigation. Now that Price had the house to himself for an extended period, he ran an ad for other paranormal investigators to help him monitor and document the ghostly activities. He had to weed through some not-so-savory types though, but he ended up working with 40 people to uncover some of the fascinating history of Borley Rectory.

During a séance, an alleged spirit named Marie Lairre came through and told the group that she had been a nun in France but had left her convent to marry Henry Waldegrave, the son of a wealthy family whose home had previously stood on the site of Borley Rectory. The tale turned grim when she declared that her husband had taken her life and placed her remains in the cellar. To Price, she seemed to fit the profile of the ghost that haunted Borley Rectory.

One spirit during a séance even gave a fascinating prediction that the former nun’s body would be found in the ruins. Though the spirit said the house would burn down that night, thus revealing the location of the bones, it wasn’t until 11 months later that a fire was started by the new owner, Captain WH Gregson, as he was unpacking library books when an oil lamp fell over and started a fire. The fire spread fast through the manor and the rectory was in shambles, later to be demolished in 1944.

Since previously unattainable areas were now exposed, Price decided to excavate the cellar where he indeed found a few small bones, which seemed to be those of a young woman. Was this the proof needed to validate the story of the betrayed nun? Regardless who the woman was, she was given a proper religious burial and finally laid to rest.

The Amityville Haunting

Though the Amityville house is most famously linked to the Ronald DeFeao killings in November of 1974, it was originally used to house Native Americans that were insane, sick or withering. Those Indians were buried on the property, obviously from less than peaceful circumstances. Did these Indians, buried on unconsecrated ground, lend to the later strange tragedy that would make this house so famous?

Ịn the early morning hours of November 13, 1974, Ronald DeFeao fatally shot his father, two brothers and his sister. All were found in their beds, face down, and despite the neighbors’ houses being close together, no one heard screams or noises. Mr. DeFeao claimed that ghosts were present during the events and had goaded him into eliminating his siblings though his original intent was just to executing his father.

The home at 112 Ocean Avenue eventually went up for sale and was later purchased by George and Kathy Lutz for $80,000. Though they were told by the realtor about the tragedy, the Lutz's were so enamored with the home, pool, garage and 4,000 square feet of waterfront that they immediately made an offer.

The next 28 days are the events that led to the book and movie, Amityville Horror.

Amityville Moving day should have been a clue when the leashed family dog tried to flee the property, jumped the fence and hung himself. Though the dog survived the ordeal, this was an ominous sign of things to come. What followed could not have been fluffed up any more by Hollywood itself. The Lutz's claimed that keyholes oozed goo, the toilet water turned black, and nasty smells started to permeate the house. Septic problems? George started to get sick and lose weight but if it was a general septic or well problem, the whole family would have been affected, especially the children.

Later on noises entered the house. The front door slammed on its own and footsteps pattered about the house. George also stated that 'static' noises could be heard. When he investigated the downstairs area where they thought the source was, he found the furniture moved and the carpets rolled back.

At the suggestion of friends who said they too had experienced ghostly experiences, the Lord's Prayer was recited room to room. That's when the noise went from static to full blown words including one screamed phrase, "'Will You Please Stop!"

As if that wasn't enough to motivate this family to leave the home immediately, entities gathered strength and started making themselves physically present. Kathy claimed that she felt a presence embracing her from behind. The family claimed they could see eyes peering at them through the windows at night. When they would investigate all they would find were hoof tracks accompanied by the odd squeal. Other sightings included a little boy on the second story landing and a dark cloaked figure. Their daughter Missy then developed a ghostly friendship with someone by the name of Jodie. Missy claimed that Jodie was an angel and could change shapes. Ominously, she said that Jodie had told her, "You'll live here forever."

The departure from the home is a bit ambiguous but the way George tells it, the house almost felt like it was coming alive with flexing walls and groans. They decided to make a very quick departure to Kathy's mother’s house during a very stormy night.

After the Lutz's fled, they requested paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren, to visit the home. The Warren’s went to the house along with a Duke University professor and the president of the American Society for Psychic Research. Their reports included strong clairvisual and clairaudial messages from the ghosts dwelling in the home, air that seemed to "solidify" and Ed claimed that he saw, "shadows along with thousands of pinpoints of light" which was down in the cellar and those shadows tried to push him about, scaring him out of his mind.

There was not a person at the investigation that didn't declare the place felt of utter terror. Lorraine declared that the strong-hold from the ghosts would be too severe to ever dislodge. So wretched was the feeling that the Duke Professor rumored to have passed out from fear.

Whether or not facts of this case were stretched or a complete hoax all together, it still remains one of the most frightening and sensationalized ghost stories of our time.

Alcatraz Hauntings

Alcatraz: Home to wrongdoers, gangsters, and… ghosts. It's no wonder this federal penitentiary is rumored to be haunted by the men who lingered there. It has all the ingredients to hold a person's tormented soul: misery, confinement and fear. Ịt is even rumored by the Native Americans to be an energy portal where evil spirits are allowed to come through. This may explain "The Thing" with glowing eyes that has been witnessed by prison staff and inmates alike. There are reports of ghostly figures, screams, banging metal doors, putrid smells and sobbing.

Death was no stranger to Alcatraz. The first reported ones were in 1857 where Daniel Pewter and Jacob Unger passed away under a landslide while excavating between the wharf and the guard-house. There were fatal confrontations between fellow prisoners, guard beatings, and failed escapes off the island. For many, Alcatraz was the last stop before entering Hell which is why it is sometimes called Hellcatraz.

Alcatraz To this day, there is an unexplained disturbing event that occurred in the isolation block of the prison, known as "The Hole" or the "Strip Cells". This level was located on the bottom floor of the prison, in Cell Block D, where they kept inmates who broke the more serious of rules at Alcatraz. They would be stripped of their clothes and held in a cold cell that only contained a sink, toilet, and a small light. They were given a mattress but only at night and it was promptly removed in the morning to ensure continual discomfort and punishment. In the 1940's it was reported by the guard that a figure seemingly from the 1800’s haunted the block. The apparition was seen on several occasions and prisoners claimed they had been attacked by a man with glowing eyes. Since The Hole was an isolation chamber, it's likely that most guards thought the on-going screams claiming attack were hallucinations. On one particular evening, one inmate screamed the night through that he was being attacked by the man with glowing eyes but was ignored by guards who had become numb to such claims. After a night of screams and pleading he finally fell silent. The door to his cell was opened in the morning and the inmate was found dead, a horrible grimace marred his face and handprints were visible around his throat. An examination later determined that these marks were not self-inflicted. This victim, whether at the hands of the glowing-eyed ghost or by an irritated guard, became a ghost of Alcatraz himself as he was reported in a line-up with other inmates but promptly vanished to the amazement of everyone present.

Numerous psychics have reported cold spots, harsh and sudden emotional bursts, apparitions claiming abuse, vibrations and a myriad of other ghostly traces. In fact, there are few spots in the prison where you can't see or feel other worldly energies including the hospital, the Warden's House, Cell Blocks C and D, the lighthouse, the therapy and utility rooms.

The Winchester Mystery House

The Winchester Mystery House is one of the most famous haunted houses in America with enough of a following to-date for daily public tours. The house, now a historical landmark, is located in San Jose California and building started in 1883 and didn't end until Sarah's Winchester's death, 38 years later in 1922. So why so long and to the tune of 5.5 million dollars? Because ghosts told her to do so!

Winchester House Sarah was the heiress to the Winchester Rifle fortune. She originally lived in New Haven and prior to moving to California lost both her only child Annie and then her husband John. Deeply grieving, she turned to a medium for solace and information. The medium told her that her husband was present and that there was a curse on the family which took his life and their daughter's because of the many people who died from the Winchester gun. He then told her that the only way to prevent her own death was to move west and build a house for the spirits. But there was a catch to this plan. Ịf she stopped working on the house, the curse would take her life. So Sarah did exactly that. She left her home in New Haven and headed to California (under ghost guidance) where she bought a large parcel of land and started construction on her Victorian home. While she lived in the ever growing behemoth, she continued her séances to her husband and other spirits. She had a bell tower added and would ring it to summon the spirits at night, and ring it again to dismiss them. It was said that she built a séance room in the middle of the house and would enter it alone to conduct her communications.

The mental stability of Sarah was in question because of the very odd design of the house. Doors were joined to windows, numerous staircases with 13 steps each that often led no where but the ceiling, doors opened to brick walls, double-layered skylights, double-back hallways, doors that dropped off to the landscaping below, upside-down stair posts and so on. Sarah claimed that these oddities were to confuse the bad spirits that had used the Winchester gun to kill. No one ever figured out her fascination with 13; the steps totaling 13, the 13th bathroom having 13 windows, 13 drain holes in the kitchen sink, most windows had 13 panes of glass, there were 13 cupolas in the greenhouse, the walls had 13 panes and the list goes on.

Some of the current haunting evidence include pages turning on their own, organs playing by themselves, banging doors, voices, dancing spots of light, cold spots and actual sightings of "fog like" people.

The Queen Mary Haunting

The Queen Mary was in service for decades as both a World War II transport ship and a luxury liner. It wasn't intended as such at the time, but the Queen Mary was named "The Grey Ghost" during the war because of the color she was painted to make her stealthy in the war-time waters.

In her time, the Queen Mary carried seasick sailors, destitute stowaways and wealthy vacationers. With this kind of history it's not surprising she saw her own share of deaths, now a hair shy of 50. In fact, there are so many haunting that some parts of the ship are now barred from the public. But for the paranormally curious there are still haunted tours of the cabins and halls that housed death. You can also lodge at the Queen Mary but after reading this, you may have second thoughts.

Queen Mary Of the numerous deaths, there was a young seaman by the name of John Henry who lied about his age to procure a position on the Queen Mary and was soon crushed to death while trying to flee a fire. To this day, knocks and bright lights can be heard around engine room 13 where the young man met his untimely death. Ịt's even been reported that the door to the engine room is sometimes hot to the touch or that mixed in with a ball of light is tendrils of smoke.

If spooky little girls like the ones in the Shinning scare you then you'll want to stay clear of the pool area. A girl from third class thought she'd have some fun and slide down the banister but a sudden wave upset her course and she broke her neck on the fall. She now wanders the pool area and nursery looking for her doll or mommy. She is not alone though. In the 30's and 60's two other women met their unfortunate deaths in the pool area and are seen periodically in that area.

War always brings atrocities but how about a cook that was cooked because the troops on board didn't like his meals? They stuffed him into the oven and burnt him alive as a lesson for bad cuisine. His screams still echo his horrible death to this day.

If you're still feeling brave enough to consider sleeping on the Queen, there was also a reported visitor that slipped a steward some cash in exchange for finding a 'willing' female passenger to keep him company for the night. After stowing his luggage, a female companion was found and they retired for the night. In the morning the man was missing from the dining hall so the steward went to find him. What they found instead was the corpse of the female companion! They could not locate the male guest, his registration information for that room nor his luggage, which people swore was checked and stowed. He simply vanished and left only a trail of blood and rumors.

The Queen Mary is home to 49 deaths but she was also surrounded by death. In an attempt to avoid enemy ships, she zig zagged her way into her companion ship, nearly cutting it in half, and was forced to leave 300 survivors in the water to be eaten by sharks or drowned. It is reported that mysterious pounding on the side of the Queen Mary is those men trying to signal to come on board.

The in-house psychic, Peter James, claims that he has communicated with over 150 separate ghosts on the ship. Peter gives bi-monthly ghost tours of the ship and claims to have made numerous contact with various ghosts, including a few mentioned above. From the sheer number and type of deaths that occurred, it seems plausible.

This is surely one of the most haunted places of modern time in America.

The Berini Haunting

"Where do all the lonely people go? Where do I belong?" These were the words softly uttered to Rose Berini from a little boy dressed in white roaming her upstairs hall. This boy wasn’t one of her two children though asking odd questions, he was not of this world .

The poltergeist experiences, later named The Berini Hauntings by paranormal researchers, started shortly after Joe Berini moved his wife and two of her children from a former marriage into his ancestral New England home in the late 1970s. Unbeknownst to the family then, the home had its own history of mystery, which would unfold, benignly at first, then into horrifying experiences that would drive them from their home in search of help.

Their first otherworldly visitor was a little girl whose voice penetrated this dimension one evening in May, 1979, and declared to Rose, “Mama, mama, this is Serena.” Neither Joe nor Rose knew of any girl in the family’s past by the name of Serena—at least then. What they did come to know soon enough was that when Serena visited them, something significant was about to happen to the family, usually of dire consequences. After Serena’s first visit, their daughter Daisy went to the doctors to have her tonsils taken out, except during the operation there were complications, which resulted in her heart stopping, and she nearly perished. The timing of Serena’s visit and Daisy’s near death experience did not go unnoticed by the Berinis.

Serena’s visit to the family also coincided with the stroke of Joe’s grandmother and a night in November before the elderly woman passed away. Her connection to the family seemed strong as Joe remembers waking up to Serena’s voice to find his wife choking next to him in her sleep. After shaking her awake, she shares with him that her ex-husband was choking her in her dream.

Children seemed to be the theme early on in the Berini hauntings and though there was a lull from late 1979 to March 1981, another child made an appearance to Rose. A little boy, dressed fully in white, was roaming her upstairs hall. Like Serena, these were not frightening experiences and she described them to researchers as, “A very peaceful experience.” Unlike Serena whose mission seems to have been to warn the family of danger, this young boy seemed to be searching for an object. The boy, witnessed by Joe, was seen entering each bedroom then settled on the floor of the hallway in search of something, sight unseen. Curious, Joe later pulled up the floorboards and found a medallion of the Virgin Mary.

Through family inquiry, the Berini family learned that Joe’s father, Carlos, had two younger siblings that had died in the house. There was Serena, who had passed away at the tender age of five, and a young boy by the name of Giorgio, who was gone at eight.

What I find interesting here is that there wasn’t a family investigation into these tragedies. One child is tragic, but two is suspicious. The fact that both chose to haunt the ancestral home is very unusual. Had these children been killed? And if so, by whom? Ịt was unlikely the older brother could have done it because he was relatively young himself. The father? Joe heard the little boy say to him on one occasion, “My oldest brother is the only one who can help me.” What did he mean? Help him from what? That very sentence was the beginning of the terror. It was shortly thereafter this statement that objects started to move in unpredictable fashion with phones flying, doors slamming open and shut and objects being yanked from Rose’s hands.

This turn of events led the Berinis in search of spiritual help. They asked two priests to come and bless the house, which they did with prayers and holy oil. There was a quiet spell after the rituals but it wasn’t for long.

The entity that descended upon them shortly after seemed straight from hell, though it once proclaimed itself “A minister of God.” It was a male, hunch-backed figure with oversized feet wearing a black cape. It brought with him fury and intimidation including flying objects, bookcases being moved, and eventually physical attacks. The children were hit on several occasions but Rose took the brunt of the figure’s venom. On one occasion Rose was struck by an opened freezer door but this was mild compared to what was to come.

One evening Rose was yanked from bed at night, suspended in the air, then dropped to the floor. Another night Joe was called back from work to find their bed leaping several feet in the air and Rose cowering in the corner with a crucifix.

The final straw was a carving knife jammed into the kitchen table. The Berinis left the house and again sought spiritual help. The second exorcism seemed to work as the hauntings vanished. It was at this point the family welcomed the Psychical Research Foundation to investigate their claims.

Personal Comment: Through my research of the paranormal, and as I mentioned earlier, it is unusual for a child to haunt a dwelling, let alone two. What causes hauntings is often an attachment to the physical, sudden departure from this life or unfinished business. Something pulled these children back to the physical dimension and also opened the door to the negative entity. From the sounds of it, the grandfather (the children’s father) had already passed. Was he the cloaked figure?

Like most hauntings I guess this haunting will remain a mystery.

The Bell Witch

What if you were vengeful and utterly unrestricted by the veil between the physical and the next dimension? That’s exactly what Kate Batts had going for her. She was a spiteful old woman who believed that she had been cheated in a land purchase by John Bell and was hell bent (literally) on tormenting him and his children, or at least his favorite 12-year old daughter, Betsy.

On Kate’s deathbed, she vowed to haunt the family of the Bell’s who had done her wrong. After her death, she made good her promise. It felt to the Bell family that this ghost took no other pleasure than tormenting them incessantly. Kate pinched their noses, poked needles into them, threw kitchen objects about, screeched at them in her now notorious high-pitched voice, pulled hair and was a presence that none of them could escape.

Kate’s wrath was particularly directly at John and his favorite daughter, Betsy. With the wife and other children she was sometimes heard crooning softly, saying something pleasant, or just ignoring them completely. John and Betsy were not so fortunate. Kate enjoyed mentally and physically torturing them with her shrieking voice or physically punishing antics.

Bell Witch Gossip moved as quickly then as it does now and this was a much talked about event in the small farming town of Adams, Tennessee. People were deeply fascinated by the rumors and some even came from hundreds of miles away to visit the place of unrest. Some spectators were greeted with handshakes, some with shrieks and some with a full dialog of warning. So popular did the story become that General Andrew Jackson, the future President of the United States, gathered a few friend to investigate the story himself. He and his cohorts wanted to either debunk or repel the feisty spirit of Kate Batts.

Jackson and his men were in for a surprise though. When their wagons stuck fast to an otherwise smooth and flat road, their jests of dealing with the witch came to a halt. No matter how they examined, pushed, cursed or whipped the horses, their wagon was not moving. Ịt was said that Jackson, in a fit of frustration and resignation, declared, “By the eternal, boys, it is the witch." Much to the amazement of Jackson and his men, the legendary screech could be heard from a nearby bush that replied, “"All right General, let the wagon move on, I will see you again to-night." Moments later the wagon and horses were suddenly free to move about. There wasn’t a person present that could account for the voice’s owner or its whereabouts.

Kate wasn’t miserly in her haunting antics and bestowed upon Jackson and his men the same torturous treatment as she had John and his daughter Betsy. Jackson’s bedcovers were repeatedly yanked from his body and his men were delivered the same pinches and pokes as the family were. Jackson and his men realized they were no match for the Bell witch and hastily abandoned their adventure first thing in the morning.

Ghosts never die so it was not surprising that the haunting of Kate lasted the duration of John Bell’s life. In fact, the ghost of Kate Batts was said to have been responsible for John’s death.

In October of 1830, John Bell was rumored to have suffered a stroke and taken ill. While he was bedridden, his family found him in a particularly bad state of stupor and position. Alarmed, his son ran to the medicine cabinet to fetch what he thought was his father’s medicine. After administering it, the family heard the witch’s glee as she victoriously declared she had poisoned John herself the night before with that vial and this last dose was surely his undoing. True enough, it was. The contents were later examined by a doctor and found to be very poisonous.

Kate was not satisfied with death alone. She sang in merriment at John’s graveside and was still heard singing happily as the last person hastily left.

Notable points: This story is popular enough to have spawned several recent movies of which include the Blair Witch Project and The American Haunting. It is also noted as one of the very rare poltergeists that caused a man’s death.
