It Won't Leave Me Alone, Am I Being Paranoid Or Is It Real?

I am now 24 and since I can remember I have been having these weird experiences. I am blessed with being able to hear, feel and see spirits. In our family I know I am not the only one but it seems that I am the only one that is affected by it or that it only seems to be happening to me. I normally see a full dressed figure with details but I can never make out any details on the face.

1* when I was around 5 or 6 years old, the house we stayed in was haunted, the room I slept in specifically, in the corner near closest to the window I would hear men laughing as if they were having a party or something, the taps in our house would go on at night as well as the bathrooms taps, the kettle would randomly switch on. We moved shortly after it started getting even worse. The lady that stayed next door to us, her son got shot by accident in their house and one year later on the same day at the same time their daughter shot herself but she survived she is Only blind, but they would tell my mom that they would burn these photos of demons or something and the photos would not burn, so I believe that there was something in their house which then affected our house as we would always visit each other.

2* we stayed in a church house and one night I woke up to find a man standing at the foot end of my bed wearing the exact clothes my grandfather did that day (my grandfather was very much alive and kicking), for some reason while the man was standing there I couldn't scream, move, breathe or do anything, it was as if I was paralyzed, only when he vanished was I able to leave the room, I went and looked if it was my grandfather but only to find him sleeping. My mom said it was my guardian angel, but I have never seen him again only that once and why was it as if he was holding me down?

3* 4 years ago I moved in to my aunt's house and for some time I noticed then when we sat in the lounge, there would be a tall man standing in the kitchen watching me and if I moved into the kitchen he would move down the passage to the bathroom and with me going back to the lounge he would stand in the kitchen again, if I was to go and bath he would be in the bathroom watching me and believe it or not he would have these glowing green eyes, one night the power went out in our house and as I came out of the bathroom this man was standing in front of me and would not let me pass him and it felt as if he was lifting me off the ground, mind you it was so dark I couldn't see my hand in front of my face. I asked my aunt about him and she said he never goes away he was always there, when I moved out of the house he left as well. This man was only one black shadow no figure or that.

4* I have a baby now who will be 1 in 1 week. The house I am staying with my boyfriend and his parents must be haunted, when sitting in my boyfriends mom room, I keep seeing a man with a dog and cat going into the bathroom, the cat enters first then the dog then the man, from the knees down this man is floating like on a cloud into the bathroom, I never see them leave but always enter and the dog and cat run in on four legs, I mean once or twice might be my mind playing games but not every 5 minutes of the day, with that when I'm in the kitchen making my baby's bottles I can see in the kitchen window (we have an open plan kitchen) an old lady standing watching me from the other side of the lounge, she is in full detail, I see her hair in a bun, how old she is and all that, the man I see in full detail but never his face. The man always walks from the beginning of the passage to the bathroom and when I'm in my boyfriend's mom's room he goes to our room. The lady stays in the lounge, when I am in the passage the hole that leads from the house into the roof, I feel like there is someone watching me from there all the time.

I mean they say baby's can also see these things I mean my baby would often look at something and point and start smiling but there is never anything there when I look, I see funny marking like faces (demons) on our Windows the outline of it being there which Only I can see, when we touch a mirror especially my baby, I wipe it clean and come back the next day to find the hand mark in exactly the same place and I know my baby hasn't been there again.

At night when we sleep I never get to sleep throughout the night because it always feels as if someone is in my room watching me, I even sleep with the TV on because it is as if this thing is waking me up to feel its presence or that.

Nobody else seems to be having this experience because it never happens when they are around its only when I am alone and I am really starting to believe that this thing is after me or having something to do with me. I mean when I make my baby bottles for the night I keep hearing something falling in our room so obviously I think my baby has fallen off the bed, (I do this when he is sleeping) but when I go and check he is fine. This never happens if my boyfriend is in the room only if I am alone. It's like this thing is calling me towards it (keep in mind I said it moves from the passage to the bathroom, to our room. I have to walk from the kitchen down the passage to our room)

2 days ago, I was sleeping when I was woken up only to find that this thing was floating around in front of my bed just back and forth the whole time, I kept hearing a popping sound coming from the other 2 bedrooms next to ours. And once this thing left our room, the popping sound stopped. The man, dog and cat have like a black shining around them, the lady has a grey colour.

What should I do because my family think I am mad. I don't care about me but I am worried that it is going to try and harm my baby or try and possess my baby. I mean I go to church so why hasn't it stopped.

Sorry this is so long but I need closure on this please if anyone can help me or give me advice.

I Think I'm Being Followed

I have had many different unexplainable things happen to me since I was a child, as early as 5 years of age. I was in a car accident then in which my mother was killed, near Carp, Ontario. We were on our way to see her father, my grandfather, in the hospital in Ottawa as she'd just received news that day that he was diagnosed with cancer. That was in January of 1970. That summer, when I was in our house, I heard my deceased mother calling me from outside.

I went out the door and she was sitting on our swing set and I remember being so happy to see her. (I don't think I understood the concept of ghosts then.) She talked to me for several minutes, and I remember distinctly her asking me how my middle brother was. We were gently swinging back and forth under the weeping willow tree. I heard the back door (screen door) slam shut and looked over and when I looked back she was gone.

Her father that we were going to see in the hospital, died later that same year in November from lung cancer. I went to live with my grandmother (his wife) seeing as how girls weren't allowed to stay in homes back then without women. My two brothers stayed with my father. My grandmother and I moved from their big house into an apartment in Almonte, ON and I had my own room with two beds in it.

I always slept in the steel three-quarter bed, and I woke up one night and saw my grandfather, he was like a much defined fog of himself, wearing a ring in which a huge bright light was shining from. I froze, couldn't yell or scream, felt like I had something stuck in my throat, pulled the covers over my head, and then he was gone. I told my grandmother about it, and she told me that their two sons had been fighting over my grandfather's ring which had a diamond in it, and one of them took it off of him in the casket.

Since those early experiences, I've had many different experiences, but with no-one that I recognized. When my ex-husband and I lived in a rented farmhouse outside of Perth, Ontario, it seemed to really escalate. The taps in the kitchen would come on full force by themselves (witnessed by others at a dinner party we had on New Year's Eve), I could hear someone walking up the back stairs from the kitchen to our bedroom at night. Specific footsteps, not just creaky boards.

There was a handprint left on the frost on the upstairs window, for which there was no way up on the outside of the house. We didn't stay a month before we called the owners and told them that we were leaving. The neighbor that pulled me out of the ditch there one night, after listening to my stories, told me that the old couple who had lived there both died in the house, within a month of each other.

A farmhouse that I owned near Forester's Falls, Ontario also had a few occurrences in it. My children were terrified to go to bed by themselves and my daughter didn't sleep all night any night that we lived there, she always woke up crying and screaming. The lights in the upstairs hall would flick on and off by themselves. The dog, our Rottweiler, would jump up from a sound sleep, and with hackles raised, would stare into that hallway and growl and bark.

I saw a man, dressed from the period of around the turn of the century in that hallway one night and he made me aware of his feeling of being lost and I knew that he was trying to get to Forester's Falls. The day we bought the house, when we tried to unlock the door with the keys, something was pushing on the other side of the door when we tried to open it. The people who lived there before moved far away so I couldn't question them about it.

The house that my husband and I built where I live now, near Cobden, Ontario, seems to have people arguing in the basement. For the longest time they would wake me up, like clockwork, every night at 3 am and I would wake my husband and ask if he could here them, but he would just roll over and go back to sleep, claiming that I was 'crazy'. I couldn't make out what they were saying from the second story of the house, but I could distinctly tell from the tone of the voices that they were arguing.

As we were building our home, I'd already started the garden here, and it was on a Sunday afternoon that we came for a picnic here. I was checking for potato bugs and someone pushed me very hard from behind and I fell to the ground on my hands and knees. I laughed, thinking that it was my husband, but when I turned around and looked there was no-one there.

We built a wrap-around porch on our house, and have huge windows all around the house, and on several, several occasions, I've had him go outside to see who it was that was walking by the windows, but now he refuses to listen to me, because not once did he see anyone.

One month ago, in the middle of the night, he also woke up with me, when we heard a huge bang inside the house. He was panting, asking me if I heard that. I said yes, and he whispered, it sounds like there is someone downstairs, but when he got up and looked, there was no-one, and no tracks on our driveway in the fresh snow the next morning either.

I've had the feeling of panic when I come down in the basement, where the kid's bedrooms are, all though, they're all adults and have moved out now. A few times I've seen shadows, or thought I had, race across the hall in front of me as I round the corner for the laundry room. My heart races, but I force myself to keep going and try to ignore it.

It just seems so strange to me that everywhere I've lived there's been some kind of 'happening' there.

I Love This Spirit

Now to those who wonder why I think that this spirit is protective of me read this story.

This morning I was so tired that I sort of faked taking my shower (don't worry I'm wearing deodorant, so no need to worry Dan the man still smells nice) Anyway, my mom found out and began yelling at me really loud. Now I love my mom, but she goes way overboard so many times. So keeping that in mind, she was screaming at the top of her lungs at me I was like "whatever", and at that she picked up a spoon and threw it at me.

Now this is the weird part. I began to move out of the way, but as I did, that cold feeling rushed over me and I closed my eyes to prepare to get hit by the spoon, but I opened my eyes and the spoon was at me feet. That spoon was going to hit me, I saw it coming. Now at this point I'm used to whoever this spirit is, so in my head I said thank you, and left for school.

Now for those who are worried about me and my mom, were good now. I know it was the spirit, because there is no way it would have just fallen from coming right at me like it was.

I kid you not about any of these events. I know for some reason this spirit feels a need to watch me, and make sure I'm ok.

I have no idea why.

Close Encounters I Have Had

I have had a few supernatural encounters. Nothing particularly scary but very interesting all the same. My first encounter was when I was a young child (about 8) I went to church every Sunday with my parents and once when all the congregation where praying (eyes closed, head down) I saw a monk stood at the altar. At the time I didn't realize what I was seeing and did that thing where you open your eyelids wide with your fingers to ensure your not dreaming or something. I know I didn't imagine it and it was as clear as day. I let the moment pass without saying anything but remember it to this day.

The corner of the church where I saw the Monk I remember always feeling scared when I had to go in there and I would run fast through it, or do what I needed to do and get out quick smart. I wondered if this was just down to being young and not wanting to be alone in a church of all places, but when I go back now I feel the same and quiver all over. It was and still is a modern Methodist church built in the 20th century, carpet and stuff very nice - so not a drafty dark old place, that would create these feelings. - Think I will do a little research on its location.

Second times were at University. I lived with a girl and two lads. The girl had a mother that was a medium. I was studying design and had a large drawing board in my room. I would be drawing away and turn to do something or go make a drink and when I returned, turned back, my pencils, ruler etc would be missing. I would look on the floor to find if it had fell and nothing would be there. I never felt scared and would just say out loud "I am going down stairs when I return I want them back" I would do this and sure enough they would be back as is it never been anywhere. My house mate (the girl) said that she once awoke to a man in her bedroom, I believe her as she said she wasn't scared just could see him there.

Third times were many instances when I worked for an Architects practice in the Peak District. Our Offices where haunted by a similar ghost to the one in my Uni house. He used to walk up and down the spiral staircase in the middle of the office (it was a old house) we would hear his foot steps and see him from the corner of our eyes, also he would take drawing equipment etc. We never felt threatened just aware of him. Once on the ground floor, where our reception was I walked down stairs to find the receptionist talking to herself. I said to her, "who are you talking to" and she said "I thought you were just around the corner" and had been for ten minutes or so as she saw me come down stairs.

Also while working at this practice I had to spend many days on my own in very old Churches that were in the middle of the countryside miles from anywhere. I never saw anything, but I was always VERY apparent to me when I had entered a Church that was haunted. I would be able to feel a presence and also if they were happy with me being there or not.

I got to be aware of this as, all the churches were alike (dark, old, draughty) but some would feel welcoming - just like walking in to your house, others scary.

As I said I never saw anything and whilst surveying towers, crypts, chapels (over 2000 photographs) never ever caught anything on camera (I always checked) but always knew when there was a presence and if it was happy with my presence. If it was happy I would feel content, also aware of them, but not threatened - I used to talk to them to keep me happy.

If it didn't like me being there I would feel not scared just a deep deep sadness (I can feel it now) welling up from inside of me, getting stronger and stronger until I would not be able to take it any longer and I would have to leave or I would have gone crazy. I can only describe it as that sadness, not anger or being scared. Something like when your mad at someone and you bit your tongue, turn the other cheek, but your blood just boils and then you can't help yourself but explode in a fit of rage, or like suffering from vertigo and being high up and just waiting for you inevitable death so you have to get out of there.

I worked with guys that had done the same for almost 50 + years. It was never spoke about if you returned to the office with a half finished survey, it was just silently concluded, accepted that the spirit there was unhappy and there was nothing we could do about it. It happened all the time, and was just treated as an occupational hazard, and we would have to telephone the Vicar and ask them to be in the Church at the same time as we were there. Whether we were in groups our by our self it was always the same.

I have not experienced anything now for 4 - 5 years. I see things out of the corner of my eyes, and then quickly look to the area to find nothing there and nothing possibly that could have caused any movement to attract my attention. But no personal encounters. I have posted on the psychic web site associated with the site about my experiences under that banner that are daily.

I am very interested in all of this and would welcome a discussion.

As I Grew, So Did They

Most of my experiences (but not all) have mainly occurred in my family's first home. This first handful of experiences did occur in that house.

When I was about 6 or 7 years old, my playroom was our basement, as was most children's that I've talked to. This was little to no problem, really. I could play and make a mess until my heart's content, and I could hear and see my mother when she came down to do laundry. I had quite a few toys (I can thank being the first child in the family, and having overly-doting grandparents for that, hah) and would just leave them all over the place when I was quite done playing with them. I had a few toys that were absolute favorites, one being a wind-up toy called a "love bug", which was simply a fluffy pink thing with a big red heart that would walk. The other toy I held in such high esteem was my Beetle juice doll. He was a pull-string doll that would speak, along with spin his head if you pressed a button in his neck.

One afternoon I was playing in the basement, as I usually did, and heard a noise from one of my toy boxes. Naturally, being a young child, I wanted to see if I somehow obtained a new puppy that had crawled into the box to surprise me, ha-ha. Well, no sooner had I gotten to the box that I heard a familiar grinding noise. I turned around and saw my love bug walking around. I thought maybe I hadn't killed off the energy from the last time I wound it up, so I let it walk itself dead. Then, I heard Beetle juice. Even at 7ish, I knew that the toy couldn't talk without someone pulling the string. I found him, and picked him up. I asked him why he was talking. Then, the head did a spin, and I did not touch the button to make it do so. I ran screaming from the basement, and had been frightened to go into alone until the day we moved out of that house (subsequently 11 years later).

Not too soon after being scared to death of the basement, I started having odd things happen. I used to have nightmares, which didn't seem out of place for a young child, and I would wake up and insist on sleeping in my parents' room. Regularly, I would sleep later than them, and wake up to a lot of movement on the bed. The first few times, I thought it was my father being fun and making the bed move. No. No, that would have been great. This was far from great. I would wake up, and when I opened my eyes, I would see legs. Disembodied legs dancing on the bed. I could feel them, I could see them, and I was scared. They were cut off below the hip, but danced in pairs despite being separated. This would only happen in their room, though. Never once in my room did I have this problem. It would also occur if I was simply watching a movie in their room, and dancing by myself on the bed.

Lastly, for this bundle of tales in passing, are a few years later down the road. I was about 12 years old. My brother was 8 and my sister was 5. I was watching television in our den area, which opened directly onto the landing for our back door. I heard some tapping coming from that area, and assumed it was our dog doing the "pee-pee dance". It wasn't. When I turned to look, I saw a girl, a very young girl, with her back turned to me, who appeared to be engrossed in whatever she was doing. By the time I turned back to watch T.V., it registered that this girl was NOT my sister, so I turned back quickly. In those few seconds, she was gone with no sound.

Thank you very much for allowing me to share with all of you my stories.

I look forward to sharing more.

Am I Really Crazy?

If you read my story "Life Long Journey of Weird Experiences" you will know I mentioned something about strange occurrences that happened when I was a teen. I don't believe they're paranormal, but it was definitely something.

I've always been an angry person. I don't know why, but I used to be so cold and mean. If I didn't get my way, I thought everyone had to suffer too. I think most teenage kids think like that though. Well as you can imagine, people didn't always like me. I mostly fought with guys because they thought I would take their crap and I never did.

Around the age of 17, I would say certain things and they'd happen. It was very coincidental. My friends were freaked out by it. So they told me to pick someone, pick a date and a time and what was going to happen and we'll all see what happens. Well, I did and it happened. I think it involved some girl we didn't like, getting a speeding ticket or something to that nature-nothing bad. This girl, by the way, messed around with spells and whatnot. She was not a nice person.

Well, after that incident, I felt pretty "powerful" because of it. I had some "gift" that no one else had. At least that's how I thought of it then. (My views have changed A LOT since I was a kid) People would try and throw stuff at me when I wasn't looking and I would catch it. Like my reflexes were extra sensitive. Now, I know a lot of you are thinking "what is this girl on...?" I wouldn't believe it myself if someone told me this, but this stuff really happened. And I freaked a few people out because of it. It wasn't terrifying in any way, just weird. I think my best friend, when she'd tell people about it, they beefed it up some as well.

Back to the anger issue, when I would get mad I would wish bad things to happen to people-nothing fatal, but something significant. Now, I don't remember exactly what I wished to happen, because I did this a lot. My anger created a playing field for my so-called "gift".

Could it have been a coincidence? I don't know.

Well, little did I know that it would be a heavy burden on me. I was always sick and my depression just got worse and worse. I began hating myself and pushing my friends away. I was very destructive. At the time, I didn't realize any of it was connected, but I know now that it was.

Now, even though I still believe this has something to do with our minds. I can't help but wonder why things came back to me. Was it karma, maybe? I strongly believe in mind over matter. Our brains are very powerful, but most of us use very little of it. I guess some people can activate some weird powers our brains have. I don't know. I think it's possible for anyone to will something to happen. It happens all the time.

Most of us don't even realize it.

After a few years, I finally had to convince myself to stop wishing such negative things on people. It never made me feel any better. Negativity can bring you down really low. I've been there many times and don't wish to go back there. The only demons I've faced are my own.

Another weird incident happened when I was like 18, I believe. My friend, her boyfriend, his friend and I all went to see Independence Day. On our way to the theatre, a man was leaving as we were coming. Things began to move in slow motion for me. I had locked eyes with this man. I had no idea who he was. And he said, "God?" and I replied back with, "No, I'm not God..." and then things were in real time because I heard my friends laughing. And the dude looked at me confused and said he had asked me if I was okay or something. It was strange.

We still laugh about that to this day, but I can't understand why that happened. What was its significance? Was I hallucinating? Did my mind go nuts?

I don't know. Things like that still happen sometimes, but I ignore them because I know people think I'm crazy.

This next one may be paranormal or my mind was playing tricks on me. I mentioned the depression earlier in this story. I didn't start medicating myself until I was 25. I was against drugs (apparently, not marijuana) for a large part of my life, but by the time I was 25, I had gone to a dark place and couldn't come out of it. I saw a doctor and he put me on anti-depressants. It made me catatonic, so I stopped using them. So he put me on something else. It didn't help me, in fact, I felt worse.

Well, I don't want to admit this, but I tried to end my life one night after days and days of continuous crying and self-loathing. I failed, thankfully and I spent a week in the psych ward. The doctors really didn't tell me anything. They were very rude, actually. The nurses were nice and so were the counsellors they had on staff for group meetings we all had to attend 3 times a day. I did not know what drugs they were making me take, but they made me extremely tired and groggy when I had to wake up. So I was in this stoned-like state a lot.

The last day I was there, I woke up at 5 in the morning. I looked around and it was pitch black and I was a bit groggy. I lied back down and tried to go back to sleep. A little bit later, I felt someone sit on the bed with me. And these are those thermal hospital beds that have air in them, so if someone sits on the corner, the other side will raise some. So something sat on the bed and I thought it was my mother who came early to pick me up. I opened my eyes and no one was there. I was a bit freaked out, so I went and talked to one of the nurses in the nurse's station and she told me to try to go to sleep. I was still out of it, so I did what she said.

When it was time to check out, the doctor came in there and gave me prescriptions for 2 anti-depressants (one with anti-anxiety) and a schizophrenic drug called Seroquel. At the time, I didn't know its purpose. Well I get home and I kept seeing black objects in the corner of my eyes move. I'd wake up from sleeping and see spiders coming down towards my head from their webs. AND I HATE SPIDERS. I was freaking out! I went online and tried to see what the side effects of these drugs were and that's when I found out about Seroquel. I immediately stopped taking it and the side effects eventually stopped.

Has anyone else had problems with anti-depressants and other such drugs? Did the drugs make me believe someone sat on my bed?

Am I Haunted?

I'd like to share the strangest of the strange moments I've had here but first I need to explain this: I live in a 3rd story apartment building on the 1st floor. Before this became an apartment building, I believe the first floor was a laundromat and a store back in the day. Half was the laundromat, half was the store.

Back in '03 I had a pet rabbit named Alaska (RIP, buddy, I miss you). Due to the rules the landlord had set, he had to be kept in the basement. My grandfather built him a cute little house-looking thing for him to be kept in. One night I went downstairs to feed him. Keep in mind I've ALWAYS thought the basement was eerie. As I was was facing his cage and putting the bowl of water inside, a big shadow appeared behind me, as if a big, tall man were standing behind me. I turned around and nobody was there, but I got the distinct feeling that I was being watched. I basically dropped the water bowl and ran upstairs yelling for my mom. Ever since then I can't go down there alone.

Last year, my mom was doing the dishes in the kitchen. We don't have a dishwasher, so she would set the dishes in the plastic dish dryer next to the sink. We talked for a moment and I left the room for a second. When I came back my mom exclaimed, "Did you do that?!" I said "Huh?" and she pointed to where the wet dishes were drying. There was a glass placed perfectly straight and standing up on top of all the dishes. It wasn't there when I left the room and I was only gone for about 3 seconds. Not to mention the glass wasn't even wet...

My room has to be the room I feel most creeped out in. Once I was trying to get to sleep, and I sleep with the lights off. All of sudden I felt the urge to leave the room, almost like a gut feeling, but I couldn't get out of my bed, I was too scared. The feeling of someone peering at me was so intense, I was physically afraid to move or breathe. I opened my blinds to let the street light in (my lamp is across the room), thinking the light would help me feel better to move. That did nothing. I must have sat there on my bed for about fifteen minutes before I leapt out of my bed and out my room. I didn't sleep in there that night. I've never felt anything so intense!

Another time, I couldn't sleep. Literally. It was almost as if someone was trying to physically keep me awake. Every time I closed my eyes and almost drifted off to sleep my eyes would snap open in terror. It's like I was scared to sleep, like someone wouldn't let me. I finally fell asleep around five thirty in the morning.

Then there's all the little things, like seeing things in the corner of my eye, hearing doors open or close when I'm home alone, the feeling of being watched. Once when my sister wasn't home (we share a room) I heard someone breathing from her bed and heard the sheets rustle. Last week, I felt someone poking me in the shoulder when I was alone in my room. Over Christmas break, I had sleep paralysis three times. Sometimes (actually... quite often) I'll be looking at something and I'll see one or more contorted, angry faces.

I realize that when one is looking for something to happen, or creeps themselves out, they can make things happen or imagine it. These are the moments in which I know nothing was imagined, so I wanted to share them and get your opinions. Thanks so much.

Am I a Supernatural Magnet?

I'm 17 years old now and I'm pretty much the only one in my family who believes in the supernatural. My parents and everyone else keeps telling me that it's just nonsense but I know that's not the truth. I have several experiences throughout my life and I thought I'd tell you about them.

I'm from Sweden and my dad grew up in a village up north. The summer house we have there is sort of on the country side and it was build somewhere between the 1920s and the 1930s. My grandparents raised my dad and his brothers there. My grandpa passed away before I was ever born so I don't remember him although I was very close to my grams, and apparently I was her favorite grandchild, probably because I'm the youngest cousin. She died in 1997 and I remember how upset I was about it but since I was young I got over it quite soon.

A couple of years later when I was around 10 or 11, during one easter holiday when my dad and I were having lunch, downstairs of the kitchen, something strange happened. I suddenly heard a person laughing and immediately looked at my dad since the two of us were the only ones in the house and asked "What's so funny?". My dad gave me a strange look and replied "I thought you were the one laughing." My dad's the type of person who always has a good joke in store but there was something about the look on his face that freaked me out, but we never heard the laugh again, although, when I think about it now afterwards, I think it was grams laughing at us.

The second experience in that house was one summer when I was around 13 or 14 years old. I was in the upstairs attic which was turned into a bedroom. I was sitting on the bed drawing. My dad and the others were outside working. I was lost in my thoughts, but snapped out of them when I heard our old coocoo clock making noises, and this is a clock that hasn't worked in decades. It went on for about a minute or two and then stopped. Feeling myself getting scared I ran outside as fast as I could.

Since then I've had a few other experiences every now and then such as the TV switching channels on its own. Rocking chairs rocking when empty and I've heard footsteps walking up and down and throughout the rooms when I've been alone. I know it either my grams or my grandpa and that makes me less scared, it's actually sort of comforting knowing that they're around, looking after us.

When I was 13 my dad and I moved to Africa, or more specifically Namibia, where we lived for two and half years because of his work. We lived in a large house, roughly around 300 meters square, if I'm not mistaken, and since I was home from school earlier than my dad was home from work, I was often alone between 3:30 and 5:00, since our maid left around 3:00. During one of these occasions, I was in the TV area zapping through the channels, and our dog Mickey was lying on the couch with me when he suddenly jumped off the couch and started barking aggressively at something in front of him, but there was nothing there. He then ran downstairs to the front door and started barking again, but then after a while, he walked back to me, but kept looking behind him as if something was there.

When I was 15 I moved back to Sweden, but I moved in with my eldest uncle and aunt in a town up north because my dad was still in Namibia, and I didn't want to live in Stockholm with my mom. The first couple of months I lived there went on as normal and I never heard or saw anything. But that was soon about to change. It started one night when my aunt and uncle were taking these french lessons and I was home alone for about two hours. I was in the living room on the phone with a friend when I heard footsteps walking upstairs, into the hallway, through the living room where I was sitting, in through the kitchen and then disappeared without a trace. Guess how high my pulse was running?

The other thing happened when my two friends (let's call them Sally and Hannah) were sleeping over. We were in the basement because the temperature there was a lot more comfortable than upstairs. Sally had fallen fast asleep, but Hannah and I were still talking. We had locked the door and all windows and made sure we were the only ones there, but apparently we had been wrong. Around 11 pm I heard someone running fast upstairs and next thing I knew the knives and forks in the kitchen drawers were scrambling loudly and both Hannah and I were scared out of our wits. During another time when Hannah was at my place we were sleeping upstairs in a room with the door closed, it must have been sometime early in the morning, around 4:00 or 5:00, and both of us heard a door loudly slamming shut, but just once.

Although all of these experience were frightening, there is one that tops them all. I've always had a slight fear of the dark and sleep with lights on. I sleep in a room upstairs and my aunt and uncle have their bedroom downstairs and they always sleep with the door closed. I remember it clearly because that night I had a bad stomach ache so I didn't sleep very well. I woke up around 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning and when I turned around, I saw a man by my bed. I was too shocked to be scared and thought I was dreaming but realized I was very much awake, and I remember the man asking me if I had a stomach ache. I replied that I did and he bent forward whispering something I couldn't hear and next thing I knew, he was gone. I've never seen him since then and I've never told my aunt and uncle about what I saw because they would say it was my imagination or I was dreaming, but I knew what I saw. I don't think he wanted to harm me, but I don't understand why my aunt and uncle haven't felt or sensed any of these haunting before. Am I supernatural magnet?
