Pet Coming to Say Goodbye

Now, I've read a lot about ghost stories. I used to have an obsession a few years back with them. And from what I've read, a few factors of it point to a ghost. I'm not a hundred per cent sure whether it was a ghost although I can't think of anything else it could have been. I guess I'll leave it up to you to decide

When I was 11, I adored this little kitten. It belonged to the next door neighbours and they mistreated it. I felt heart broken, and looked after it as much as I could. I would pet it, feed it, and showed it love. Over time, it learned to trust me and it loved no human more than me. Even when it had kittens, it bought them over from next door and left them outside my window still.

When it grew into cat hood the next door neighbours decided they didn't want the hassle of it getting pregnant again. So they got it speyed. However not wanting to have it in the house they shoved it outside where its stitches came undone and its insides were hanging out. She could have been saved but they didn't want to pay the money.

I was heart broken for ages, and cried every night. Even now, as I turn 16 I still miss it.

I remember one night a few months after I was feeling sorrow for the poor cat on my bed as I was patting my dog. Suddenly cold drafts were coming. Now because it was a while ago I'm not 100% sure if the draft thing happened, because it happened a long time ago but from what I remember it did.

However what I do remember, did happen for real. My dog jumped off my lap and started barking at thin air. I found that really weird, and shuffled back a little bit. But then I felt as if a cat was rubbing against my bare foot. I didn't see anything, just thin air. I wasn't sure if it was a ghost or not but being curious, I put my hand out. I felt something go under my hand and rub against it. However it didn't last long as it disappeared as soon as it came, and my dog returned to normal.

You may not believe me, but I still hold onto this precious memory of my small cat saying goodbye to me, and not to be sad of her departure.

Paranormal Visitor

My experience happened about a couple of years ago, when I was around 14 to 15. I still haven't ever been able to fully explain it to anyone because it's fairly awkward and embarrassing, so I thought I would share it here. I have never had any real ghostly or spiritual experiences before this that I can remember so this was extremely scary for me.

I was asleep in my bed one night; the time would have probably been around 3-4 am. I remember waking up to someone standing in my room; it was dark so I could only see a silhouette. I remember I was lying on my side and I could see this 'person' out of the corner of my eye. They were standing about a meter from me towards the end of my bed. I remember thinking it was someone in my family (I have no idea why?) so I pretended I was asleep and ignored them so they would go away. But next thing I know this 'person' is standing right at the level of my head, next to my bed. I closed my eyes so they would leave, but they leant down and whispered something in my ear (it frustrates me that I can't remember what, but it was a male voice), they also strangely pinched me on the bum as they whispered it. I'm not sure how they got under my blankets without moving them but they somehow managed it. But this is the part of the story that gets awkward to tell. At the time, I had my period and was sleeping with a tampon in, and when the 'person' pinched me on the bum, they caught the string and it caused me to have an intense pain in my stomach, and with that the 'person' had disappeared and I fell back asleep.

I woke up the next morning still thinking it was someone in my family, but when I mentioned it they all looked at me like I was crazy. That's when I started to think that maybe it was something else...

I've researched since and found out about shadow men, which seemed to be the only spirit/entity that seemed to fit my description. I haven't seen this thing since, but I have always been curious as to what it wanted and why it visited me in the way it did...

If anyone could give me help as to what you think it could be that would be great, as I find that with the few people I've told, they seem to think I'm crazy with the bum pinching part, so please helpful comments only. Thanks for any help in figuring this out.

Our New Grandmother

I have a little trouble remembering specifics of this experience as I was young and have tried very hard not to remember them over the years as well! This took place in Brisbane, Queensland and my relatives still live in the house today.

I was about 10 when my aunty and uncle and my two younger cousins moved into a beautiful old Queenslander in an older, more historic side of Brisbane. The house was huge and situated near big old school for children with special needs, which used to be a retirement home as we learnt, many years before it became the school. There was also a newer aged home facility directly across the road.

After a couple of months after moving in, my family visited one day. My two cousins and I were playing in one of the boys bedrooms when I left for a drink or something and came back to see my cousin sitting on the floor playing with an old (and I mean OLD, about 90) lady sitting on the bed watching him. She was as plain as day and nothing felt strange about it, I figured she was someone from the other side of the family who I didn't know, and had entered whilst I was gone. It must have been about 15 or 20 minutes or so that went by and she just sat there watching us and occasionally talking to someone who wasn't us. Neither my cousin or I said anything to each other about her, just figured the other one knew who she was. It started creeping me out that she was just watching us play and not talk so I decided to have a chat but when I turned up to look at her she wasn't there. I didn't think anything of it, it was a big room and we weren't facing her so she could have left.

Months after this I didn't go to the house and one day at a family get together, my cousin told me the lady always comes into his room or the bathroom and asks where the little blonde girl is (me) and that she liked me because I reminded her of when she was a girl. This struck me as odd. Why wouldn't she ask my aunt or uncle where I was?

I think it was about a year or so later that I went back to the house when my younger cousin came running up to me and told me there was someone who wanted to see me. I didn't even think it would be her, but I went in his room and sure enough there she was, but this time very very pale, and something smelt like it was starting to rot in the room (and after I accused my cousin of producing the smell...) and smelt a little musty I think, then I figured out what was going on. I was so scared I couldn't move or talk or anything. My cousin sat down and started to play and she just stared at me and smiled the whole time whilst I was frozen up against the bedroom wall. Eventually I asked her where she came from and she gestured towards no particular place. I asked if it was the old folks home the road and she shook her head to say no. I looked at my cousin and looked back at her and she was gone. I asked him if he had heard what she had said and he had no idea of what I was talking about, just that some lady asked me to go to his room.

That was the last any of my cousins remember seeing her, except a few years later my cousin was woken up and still sleepy, heard a lady say "you kids are all grown up now, you used to wear me out walking all the way from the home to see you" or something along the lines of that. After that he asked my aunty who the old lady was in his room and she flipped out understandably. But they still live there and nothing has ever happened, and I am still too scared to go back there, and even more scared to talk about it with my family. I never really thought it was real until my cousin brought it up last year, which gave me a huge shock. She was a sweet old thing I guess. I just found it strange that she never spoke to me.

Ouija Experience With James And My Mum

Read the article and leave a comment.

This story occurred in the summer of 2006, if I remember correctly. My best friend at the time, James, was sleeping over at my house. I no longer am friends with him, but we used to do everything together.

We had lots of sleepovers, spent almost everyday together during the holidays, but we were especially interested in the paranormal.

One night, after having a swim in my pool, we were on the computer looking up things on ghosts, spirits, etc. We then found information on Ouija boards. We didn't know what these were... But we read up about them, and we were very curious.

My mum then told us it was time for dinner, so we sat at the dining table and began to eat. I brought up with my mum what me and James had been researching and reading. She told us stories of how when she was around 14 or 15, she used to do Ouija Boards with her mum and her auntie. She said that they only used them about 5 times.

James and I begged her if we could try one. After on-going begging for around 15 minutes (we were very persistent) she agreed.

We set up the board on the coffee table. The board had the letters of the alphabet cut out and placed in a circle, with YES at the top of the circle and NO at the bottom. We used a small shot glass as the planchette.

James, my mum and I put our index fingers very lightly on the glass. Before we started, my mum explained that for it to work, you had to believe it would, to have an open mind. Or otherwise it wouldn't. She also said that you must be nice to the spirits, treat them how you would like to be treated. So as James and I had never done this before, my mum started it off by asking questions such as "Are there any spirits present?"

Within about 20 seconds we got an answer, the glass moved to yes.

James and I looked at each other as if to say "I'm not moving it... What the hell?"

I cannot clearly remember what question my mum then asked, but it started to spell out words that made no sense, sort of like typing "skdfhsfshfkjhsfh".

My mum then asked if we could have someone who speaks English, as we couldn't understand what this person was saying, it then moved to yes.

James and I really wanted to talk to one of our best friends, Daniel, who had passed away 2 years before. We talked to him for a little bit. We asked him questions that really only he or any of our friends would have known. We asked who he wanted to talk to, and the glass came over to my direction, it almost fell off the table!

Then my mum asked if he was safe in heaven... With all the angels, and that he was doing good. It moved to yes.

By this time, James and I were bawling our eyes out. I don't know what made us cry- we weren't sad, I think it was more the relief of knowing he was okay.

My mum also wanted to speak to her mum, my nanna, who passed away 4 years before.

I asked Daniel if it was okay if we spoke to my grandma, it moved to yes, we said thank you.

My nanna always called my mum Sally. Even though my mum's name is Penny, Sally was just sort of a pet name for her. My mum asked if nanna was there, it moved to yes. Then I asked who she wanted to speak to, it spelt out Sally.

We spoke to nanna for a while, she said she loved us and missed us, but that she was okay.

Then nanna stopped replying... And it was silent for about 2 minutes. My mum asked if anyone was there, but the glass didn't move to yes, to no, or to any of the letters.

It started to move around in a clockwise direction really fast. James and I were getting really scared so mum said goodbye and we just took our fingers off the glass and packed it up.

Now, after talking to my youth group leaders, and reading more and more about Ouija boards, I know that they are evil. And it probably wasn't Daniel or my nanna that we were speaking to. But if they are evil, how come when we asked if they were safe in heaven with angels, it said yes?

Ouija Board, Sickness And Other Strange Things

I know this happened a long time ago, but it has always been on my mind and no one really believes me, so I thought it would be good to post it onto a ghost site were people can help me rest my mind.

I was about 8 at the time, we just moved house into this fairly new, large 2 storey house. I liked it at first but I could never get to sleep there. My sister, who was 14 at the time, got a Ouija board which she used one night with her friend. According to her the blinds had moved, a belt fell off her bed and our cat looked up at her stereo freaked out and tried to escape the room. I don't know if it was because of that happening, it put images in all of our heads but a few strange things happened.

First off, in my brother's room (which was next to my sister's) the TV would turn off by itself and his stereo would turn up by itself. One time the garage door opened by itself. One thing which has always stuck into my mind was when I was sleeping in my mums bed and she was downstairs, the TV was on and it was playing Sex and The City which got really loud and woke me up so I turned it down, I then heard foot steps along the hallway run towards the bed. (The bedroom had two wardrobes which faced each other in a small hallway from the entrance of the main bedroom, they where mirrored) the floor would always crack when someone walked on it, and it made that noise when I heard the footsteps. I told my mum about it but she says it was probably someone walking past the door but I know what I heard, it wasn't from the outside of the room.

During this time, my parents divorced and seeing I didn't like sleeping in my room alone I would stay in my mum's room all the time. I used to see what I thought was a hooded man but in the morning it was always just a fan, but at night it looked completely different. I think that one was just my imagination. Two of my friends who were neighbors said they went up to the front door to see if anyone was home and the house was black and they saw a quick flash go past the door.

My mum also got very sick during this time and a kind stray cat who made our house his home (we ended up keeping him he was so lovely) got hit by a car, but lived. It seemed as if it was bad luck.

My sister said she went and got the Ouija board 'blessed' last year and the psychic said it had a strong evil presence. I don't really know what to believe. It doesn't seem like much, but it has a made a huge impact on me and now I get these weird uneasy feelings in certain houses and I am very afraid of the dark (at 18, so it's pretty sad).

This house was in the Gold Coast area of Queensland, Australia. One of my neighbors still lives there and the current owners haven't seemed to have experienced anything, in fact they are renovating the house. So if it wasn't the house, what was it?

Nothing happened once we moved, I felt really safe at our new house. But this old house, it confuses me.

Any ideas?

Orbs Or Dust?

I haven't experienced anything for so long so why now? Or did I just become ignorant of it and once again became aware?

It started this afternoon when my dad had rented a movie about ghosts. I didn't want to watch it, because it was based on some journal. True or false not entirely sure, but I didn't watch it.

I went back into my room and turned on my music and started dancing. I glanced at my camera and a sudden thought crossed my mind about the show "ghost whisperer" and how on one episode they took photos in a dark room. So I left my CD player on, picked up my camera and walked over to the light, took a deep breath and turned the light off and clicked my camera, two flashes and the picture was taken. I turned the light back on and looked at the photograph there was orbs or dust everywhere.

Orbs Or Dust? 1

Orbs Or Dust? 2

I saved the picture onto my laptop and still have it on my camera. I ran through all excited at first to my brother to show him, he didn't believe me so I got him to come back with me, then I took a few more pictures with him in them this time, and the orbs or dust were there again, just not as many.

As I took the picture I spoke out by saying "if there's any ghosts and you want your photo taken jump in now!" because I was so excited I might have caught them on camera. There were a few different ones. Three of them were a white fading on the end as if they were moving, and the rest were see through plasmic looking things. So I'm not sure if it's anything.

If I knew where I could post the picture I will, and maybe somebody can tell me if its orbs or just dust.

Orbs at a Party

Read the article and leave a comment.

his is only one of my many stories I would like to tell, it might be hard to read because I was very tired when I was writing this and I'm only 13. I was going to my mates party and I brought my digital camera to take some photos of my mates. I got very bored so I started to take some really random photos. My mates house is in east Ipswich, Queensland. At her house there is a tree in her backyard. I thought I would make a great photo.

Picture of Orbs at a Party So I took a photo and when I was looking back the the photos on the camera, I noticed that it had orbs in it, so I was telling my friend about it when the girl that was hosting the party sister overheard us. She went on to tell me that their house was haunted so the girls parent, the sister and a few other girls went in to the house.

They told me that an old man had died (he had a heart attack and tried to crawl and call for help but he couldn't) where the hallway started (it use to be the front door) and sometimes they heard steps. The cats and dogs will jump over the spot we took some photos but nothing came up, the only other thing that happened that night was that my brand new batteries became flat. The photo I took can't be dust or anything because I took a couple and that's the only one that had any thing in it.

One Big Fat Scary Orb

You know how many report cases of orbs and such; I also have had a certain experience with one. Like any other little kid I too was afraid of the dark and my mum said I had to sleep alone that night. I tried to stay up as much as possible with the light turned on but eventually lost the battle and it was switched off. I was stuck in bed alone only to have a giant pony toy lying beside me like that would help. The thick blankets almost suffocated me as I struggled to keep my head under there; naturally I had to breathe. And it was hot under the blankets. I wanted to pull them off my whole body but I retorted against such thoughts as I was scared of ghosts. Unfortunately that wasn't my night either. I was awake, sweating because of the heat. My head barely escaping from the cave of my thick blankets. I caught a glimpse of something rather huge in size, shaped like a ball, it was white and shiny. I know it sounds crazy but this huge white ball shaped thing slowly floated towards me. To tell the truth it scared the crap out of me!

I prayed, shut my eyes and pulled the blankets over me even tighter and waited until I fell asleep. Luckily when I did wake up next the sun had risen and there was no sign of that orb shape thing.

Old Routines... After Death

This story is about my Uncle Edward who passed in June 2006.

My uncle was a humble, yet fussy man. He was the average Australian, heavy drinker, cussing and such. He was very sick with bowl cancer and he was told he didn't have long to live. One June morning, I awoke to a phone call informing me that my uncle had died. This was quite a shock to us. Although we could tell the end was coming soon, we didn't expect THAT soon. Unfortunately, He had a heart attack in his sleep and died in his home next to my Aunt.

My Aunt was distressed so we offered to stay the night. The house was full of guests so my mother and I slept in the living room. During the night, I awoke to the loud footsteps of a person about 3 meters away from me. It was dark so I couldn't tell if anyone was there. I knew it wasn't my mother because I could hear her loud snoring. I checked my digital clock and it read 1:09. I thought I was dreaming and thought nothing of it. As I was trying to get back to sleep, I heard heavy breathing and low whispers. It was obviously from a male or a woman with a very-very low voice. But, there were only females in the house.

When I awoke, my other aunt was also distressed. She had told me that when she went to the bathroom at about 4am last night, she heard the washing drying machine shut and start. We were all worried because my Uncle always roamed around the house at that time to dry off his pajamas. (He used to sweat whilst sleeping). We all confirmed that none of us went to the dryer at that time.

My aunt (the wife of my uncle) also had a dream of him. The dream was that he was telling her that he will always be with her.

Is he trying to contact her? Comments would be appreciated.

Noisy Shadow

Read the article and leave a comment.

At the end of 2008 my grandparents came from New South Wales to visit us in Brisbane and stay at our 1920s Queenslander (this is what everyone calls an old house in Queensland) for two nights. After a busy day every one, growing tired went to bed. After saying goodnight to my grandparents I went into my room, turned off the light and went to go to sleep. As I pulled the covers over my head, I heard a silver tea set displayed on my great grandmothers antique kitchen dresser shake. Dismissing this as movement from myself walking across the room before I got into bed, I ignored it.

I was astonished when the tea set continued to shake and when other objects in my room sounded like they moving. My attention was taken away from this however when I could see what looked like a shadow of someone walking past my door which I saw through the margins of the door, as the hallway light would shine through. The shadow however was moving much faster than someone would walk in a house. I was intrigued when the shadow did not reach the floor as it continued to move back and forth across the door. But still at this point I was not scared until I thought to myself "what is that, a ghost?" As I heard myself say those words, I realized what I was seeing. I then crawled out of bed to try and poke at this moving shadow.

As I moved towards the door it looked like it was on the same side of the door as I was. I moved up to the door when the shadow dissipated like smoke. Immediately struck with fear I left the room to tell my parents what I had just seen. Before I could say anything my mum said "you look like you've seen a ghost". Making what I then spilled out more difficult to say. The next day my grandfather woke up with the whim to see his maternal uncle. This became interesting upon reflection when his mother had died just a fortnight before he came to visit us and he later visited his uncle, who was also his mother's brother the next day. Also interesting was the items in my room that were shaking were in fact objects that previously belonged to her, including old wooden boxes (I believe two wooden boxes were actually opening and shutting by themselves).

As you may remember from the beginning of this story the noise started on her kitchen dresser. I decided to post my story when I read a story similar to mine on this website in which a shadow with the same description as the one I saw with no defined shape. But roughly the same size as an average person also had a red eye which interests me as I remember being at my other great grandmothers 150 year old house in south west NSW. I remember in the middle of the night what looked like a red eye was looking at me from outside the house, about one foot from the window. As I was a 6 year old, I slept in the same room as my great grandmother on that night, I felt safe enough with her to not to tell anyone. (She was oblivious to the whole thing as she was asleep) But as I type this up I feel chills up my spine in the way it watched me for an extended period of time of what seemed like at least a half an hour. And perhaps this red eye was one in the same as the shadow that noisily held my attention in my own bedroom. I would be interested if someone else has had a similar experience. Thank you.

Night Time Visitors

When I was young boy living in Australia I was a very light sleeper, very sensitive, too. If someone entered my room while I was asleep they would wake me up even if they were trying to be quiet. I would also somehow know whether it was my Mum or Dad or one of my two sisters, I mean as soon as I woke up I'd know exactly which family member was in my room.

Twice I was woken in the middle of the night and my gift failed me. I don't recall how young I was at the time, but I was easily under 10 years of age.

The first time I woke up and opened my eyes I was looking straight into the face of a figure leaning over me. I say "face" because he was leaning over me, but truth be told I couldn't see a face, or make out any distinguishing features at all; it was just a dark shape, leaning over me. I do not believe it was my father, although he was a big man and this figure leaning over me was large as well, because it didn't "feel" like my father. My reaction at finding a stranger leaning over me in the middle of the night was immediate and frantic. I grabbed my teddy bear, yanked the covers over my head and burrowed down to the foot of the bed. If it had been my father checking on me, I'd like to think he would have responded to this reaction by letting me know it was him and seeking to calm me down... But there were no such fatherly reassurances that night.

I distinctly remember the next morning asking my Mum if she or Dad had come into my room to check on me. I know they used to do that, but it was never anything more than opening my door and peeking in, which would still wake me up. This was someone who'd entered my room and been leaning over me with their "face" barely a foot or so from mine, and they hadn't been a member of my family.

A year or two later (I'm unclear on my exact age, I'm 38 now so we're probably going back a good 30 years or so) I was again woken in the middle of the night. When I woke up I could sense someone standing at the foot of my bed, looking at me. Again if either of my parents had been checking on me they would have done nothing more than popped their head in the door, but this figure was standing at the foot of my bed, and it didn't feel like my parents. Oddly enough, despite there being a street light right outside my bedroom window, and despite having excellent night vision (I wear sunglasses all the time because even a cloudy day is too bright), my room was pitch black and I couldn't see a thing, but I knew someone was there in the dark, watching me. I could feel them there and it terrified me.

I've since spoken with other people who've had visitors in the night (people I personally know and trust) and they've all been able to describe their visitor, their facial features, clothing, everything. They've also told me that while they were a little disturbed to wake up and find someone watching over them, that they also felt calm and at peace and they somehow knew their visitor meant them no harm.

My midnight visitors were dark apparitions that scared me half to death. I was never harmed, but they were not peaceful experiences at all.

Night Demon Or Nightmare

Read the article and leave a comment.

Back in 1985 I got into my bed at about 1.30am in the morning. The person next to me who I thought was my girlfriend, rolled over and had the face of a 100 year old witch and the eyes of a demon. To this day I'd always presumed it was just a nightmare, but since I've been visiting this site and reading some of your stories I'm not so sure!

First of all let me tell you a relevant story that may help you decide, what happened on that night all those years ago. For about 28 years I've always been able to leave my body, (Astral project) many times perhaps 100 plus. On this occasion, I found myself walking around my own house. If you have read my other stories you will know, that I've denied my ability from time to time and have been my own toughest critic, when distinguishing what is real and what is my imagination.

Here's the relevant story. One night about 7 years ago I was asleep in my room, it was about 2am in the morning. When all of a sudden (out of body experience) I found myself standing by my bed looking at myself sound asleep. I proceeded to walk out of my room and down the hallway past my eldest son's room and continued to where my youngest son and wife were sleeping. As I've explained before he does get frightened from time to time and my wife sleeps with him on occasions to help soothe his fears. As I walked into the room, I noticed my son facing the wall and my wife sleeping in an opposite direction. Her face was in my direction as I walked in the room. Before I knew it (about a split second), I was back inside my body still in a deep sleep. Then again, I got up out of my body for a second time and headed down the hallway and into my son's room once more. On this occasion, I know this sounds crazy, but I grabbed my wife's foot hoping she would wake up and see me standing there, because if she could, this would be the holy grail of evidence that this experience was real.

Before I knew it I was back inside my body. Getting up and out of body for a third and final time, I headed down again where my wife and son were sleeping. On this occasion as I walked in my son's room, my wife had turned over and was now facing the wall the same way my son was, that was that. The next morning when I woke up I'd purposely kept quiet about this experience the night before, hoping my wife may say something as she has done in the past in regards to other unexplainable events. I waited to about 6pm that evening and still my wife said nothing. I was starting to doubt whether my out of body experience was real. I'd decided to get the ball rolling in around about way and said (I thought someone was here last night). Her eyes lit' up as if she'd just remembered and said "yeah" someone was here they walked into Trav's room and touched me on the foot. She continued to tell me they walked in a couple of times, I'd asked her (were you frightened), she said yes, I kept my eyes shut and turned toward the wall, I didn't want to see a ghost... I got the validation I was looking for and yes my wife wasn't real happy with me when I told her what I did.

Now getting back to 1985 I can tell you this, this is the first time I've told this story in such a detailed description and I am keen on your feedback to what is was. I was then living with a previous girlfriend on the Central Coast of Australia not far from the beach in a modest two bedroom home. Not much to look at on the outside, but cozy on the inner. The house was built round about the 1920s... On this night my ex girlfriend and I had an argument (can't remember what it was about) But I do remember I ended up in the spare room sleeping on a thin mattress on a hard wooden floor.

Now I remember being asleep and realizing I was feeling so uncomfortable, I wanted to wake myself up and get myself back to my bed. From my sleep I guess I'd ordered myself to wake up and before too long I found myself, what I'd thought was awake and conscious. Rising off a thin mattress everything seemed normal it didn't seem like an out of body experience. NB: relevance of previous story... My perspective of what was going on around me was quite clear. I walked from our spare room into our bedroom. As I'd walked in the room my then ex partner was asleep on her side with her back facing me. I remember seeing the time on our digital alarm clock and it was 1.30am. I was laying there everything seemed normal then I felt my girlfriend start to roll over towards me and what followed next was the most terrifying surreal experience I have ever had.

As she completely rolled over (in a horrifying encounter) her face had the resemblance of a 100 year old witch. I couldn't believe what I was seeing as she opened her eyes they were bloodshot red. She looked at me with the most evil look you could imagine. I suddenly became paralyzed and in a vicious moment she lunged at me and had me pinned down on the bed. I remember shutting my eyes and repeating over and over, "this is not real, please lord, this is not real." Then all of a sudden I found myself back in the spare room trying to wake myself up from a deep sleep once again... Just like last time I found myself rising off the mattress, but this time I had some memory of the previous occasion and cautiously walked back into the main bedroom.

As I walked into the room my (ex) just like before was sleeping on her side with her back facing toward me. First thing I thought of was to check her face, before getting into bed. This time she looked to be normal and as I got into bed. I thought about the nightmare that I'd just woken up from. Laying there something wasn't right. A sudden paralyzing sensation overcame me once more; I was trying to rationalize some logic from this cause. I just couldn't believe what was going on. I started to hear a noise from under my bed, then from a paralyzed state I'd watch this long arm with long vicious fingernails (slowly this time) come out from under the bed teasingly slow in the direction of my throat, eventually grabbing it in a vice like grip. This was the same creature that had me pinned down before. Once again I'd closed my eyes and said "please lord, this is not real" over and over. (Although I was frightened, I do remember not allowing my fear to totally consume me).

Again I was back in the spare room in a deep sleep. This time I'd really woken up, I was in a complete sweat and was shaking pretty bad. I got up off the floor, my heart rate had to be 150 plus. As I walked into the main bedroom, I'd noticed that my ex girlfriend was sleeping on her side, the same position I saw twice previously... First thing I did was turn the light on. This did wake her up, she looked at me and said, (My god what happen to you) a bad dream really bad. She got up and said I'll get you a glass of water. As I sat down on the bed, I remember thinking if anything attacks now, I'm dead. What gave me a chill was when I looked at the alarm clock it said 1.30am. I'd grabbed my bible and slept with it between my hands and on my chest, I come from what you would call a street wise family and have had my fair share of street brawls, this experience had me confused and left me almost in a state of shock, even if it was just a nightmare. This is the first time I've told this story; I don't blame you if you don't believe me. I thought long and hard about even submitting it, I just wonder now, if that I really did have an "out of body experience" and perhaps was deceived and attacked by a demon... I suppose what you would call a spiritual assault; I can tell you that I do believe my ex had an energy hanging around her which I will tell you about in another story.

What do you think...?

Mysterious Footsteps

One morning, in 2005, when I woke up at 4:30am, I was very thirsty so I went to the kitchen and got myself a drink. It wasn't very dark, it was just starting to get light. So I didn't have to turn any lights on, everybody was still asleep with their doors shut. I made my way back to my room and just as I was entering my bedroom I heard a thud. Like somebody just jumped off something in the kitchen. I ran into my room and laid in my bed shaking as I heard footsteps up and down the corridor near my room, my door is in a way where if there's enough light (which there was) I can see down the corridor and the way my bed was at that time, I was in a position to see if anything was there. I stared at the door terrified I might see something. I could hear the footsteps up and down the corridor, it went on for ages, I eventually (still shaking) walked up to the shelf near my door and grabbed my metal CD holder, and walked out into the corridor, then the footsteps stopped. I called out "if anybody is there please show yourself" but in a much more shakey please don't show yourself way. When I decided what ever it was has gone, I turned and walked back into my room and as I turned my back to go into my room I felt this sudden feeling I was being watched, so I ran into my room, turned on the light and laid in my bed... I eventually went back to sleep.

Mysterious Events at Birthday Party

Read the article and leave a comment.

It was about a year since the death of my father's friend (who had only lived down the street from us) and since after his death, weird things had happened around the house like:

* footstep sounds in the hallway

* a sense that somebody was outside

* weird noises in the night

But the weirdest events happened on my birthday. All morning I had been feeling sick for no reason until my friends came around (for a sleep over). Nothing specifically bad happened after that until around night. After me and my 6 friends were full of sugar, one of my friends (sarah) saw something and got freaked out. She said she sensed something around the tent we were sitting in. I got a bit sick in the stomach again so I went outside the tent to our camp fire (which my father set up). But as soon as I got back in one of the two tents, sarah started telling us that she was getting freaked, some of my other friends sensed something too before sarah was but only just admitted it.

So, this leaded us to making a pact, nobody would leave the tent without somebody else. My other friends Shannon and Katrina thought it was weird but they went along with it. We were about to go to bed when mysteriously the tent wouldn't close so everybody went crazy and ran to other tent leaving behind phones, blankets, pillows, etc. Everybody was too afraid to go back for them. Another problem came to hand when the tent window was open, but being chickens everybody stayed inside the tent. Not knowing it, the weirdest part of my birthday was about to take place when, staring wide-eyed out the window I saw a white, cloudy and transparent form of a man holding an screw driver (or an other object, couldn't tell). The man shifted quickly across the window. Of course since my friends were scared enough, I didn't tell them but as soon as I heard my mother checking up on us, me and 3 of my friends ran quickly up the stairs to my bedroom. In the morning I told my friends what I saw, they believed me because they felt the ghost's presence, but they NEVER have came over for a sleep over SINCE!

I'm just so glad that we chose not to watch that horror movie before the events took place. Since after my birthday one of my other friends (emily) told whilst sleeping in my room she heard big, large footsteps down the hallway, she told me "I'm glad you closed your door, if I saw that GOD DAMN ghost down your hallway I would have never slept again!"

Some other events have occurred after my birthday, these are:

* my nephew's bottle levitating

* lights going off in the house

* curtains been pulled down while in the dark

* and still I hear footsteps down the hallway!

PS: this is not the only ghost my family have encountered before!

My Two Experiences 3

Read the article and leave a comment.

In order to understand the following you may need to read "My two experiences" and "My two experiences 2". Since these experiences have started I have tried to gather some past information on my house, I have even joined in on a local ghost tour so as I could get a better understanding of the Blue Mountains possible connection to paranormal events. I have to say though my searching has brought minimal results.

I guess the only item of interest is that the previous occupant was an old lady who lived as a virtual recluse, keeping no company except the occasional cat (neighbor's feedback). When I bought the place it was considerably run down hence my need to renovate in the last couple of years. If it is in fact the old lady hanging on then I could possibly link that to the presence sitting on my bed, although I am struggling to find a connection with the remaining events I have previously mentioned.

I have previously stated that I am no longer worried about these events in fact I have become quite interested in what is going on and with all that is happening I am still happy to discover that some if not all my have a normal/natural explanations (although the guitar incident is going to have need some serious explanation to convince me that it was normal). I guess the only thing that unnerves me a bit is something that I lightly touched on in my last post.

Most recently I have heard whispering in the spare bedroom, only slight to the point where you could mistake it for something else, I could almost pass it off if it were not for the fact that the couple of times I have heard this whispering, it seems to cease when the light is turned on.

This room used to be part of the original verandah however I have since closed it off and added a wall so as to make it a room for guests, not sure if this relevant just thought it was worth mentioning. With this whispering noise I could not make out any kind of voice or words, just a hushed almost comical "psst" sound.

This probably concludes my posts on this site as I have pretty much shared all that has gone on.

All in all I have been grateful to have had these experiences as they have considerably opened my mind. If anything of significance happens in the future I will be sure to let you all know.

My Two Experiences 2

Read the article and leave a comment.

Since my last story I have had more weird stuff happening around the house which I am now quite open to calling paranormal experiences.

Following on from the presence on my bed and the guitar playing by itself I can now add doors opening of their own accord (maybe wind), footsteps, whispering and cold spots in the back of the house.

Two major experiences that stand out have happened in the last two weeks. The first happened around 6:30 in the afternoon, I was sitting in my lounge room reading the newspaper when I heard my front door open and footsteps making their way toward my direction. Not yet alarmed I got up to see who it may be; upon entering the next room I discovered that there was no one there and that the door was closed, locked in fact.

The second experience happened 3 nights ago at about 3:30 am. Lying in bed thinking as I often do at this time, I heard what sounded like canned laughter. I was neither asleep nor dreaming and this laughter was quite loud, it lasted about 30 seconds before fading out. No longer freaked out by these experiences I got up to see if I had left the TV or radio on only to find out that I had not. Due to previous advice on this site I have begun to seek out history on this house however I have had not much luck so far.

My Two Experiences

As can be guessed by my user name I often sit on the fence when it comes to making judgment on most things however recent experiences have left me wondering whether I have a very active imagination or if some strange things are happening in my house.

I live alone in the Blue Mountains which are west of Sydney NSW, and there is nothing unusual about my place that I am aware of.

The first experience was about three months ago at around 4:30 in morning. I heard someone coming into my room which was strange enough but not long after this sound stopped I felt the definite weight of someone sitting on the side of my bed. I jumped out of bed to turn the light on and when I did there was no one there. I am not ashamed to say that I slept with the light on for a few weeks after that, but no similar incident occurred.

The second incident occurred this morning, again around 4:30. While lying in bed I heard a dinging metallic sound. The sound was repetitive with each ding being about 5 seconds apart. I got up and turned the light on so as I could locate the sound.

Wedged tightly between my cupboard and the wall is my old steel string guitar and that is what was making the noise. I stood there in the light the sound continued, about every 5 seconds the same dinging noise which now could be called a mute kind of strumming.

I quickly wrenched the guitar out threw it on floor at which point the noise stopped.

At this point I am considering the obvious. I don't get online often so I won't be able to join in on discussion but I would be grateful for any feedback

My Pet Cat Krusty

Read the article and leave a comment.

When I was 19 I lived in a flat with my beautiful cat named 'krusty who I was very close too. He was my favorite cat ever' He use to play catching the ball, ha-ha just like a dog. He used to love sitting in the big window near the front door looking outside.

One evening I let him out for some air, a few hours later I called out for him to come inside, he didn't come back and by the morning I was worried about where he was? A few hours later a council man phoned me to tell me he found Krusty on the side of the road dead. He had been killed by a car. He said he would bury krusty for me. He came over to my flat and gave me Krusty's blue blood stained tag collar with his name and number on it. I was really upset and cried when he gave it to me.

Two days later I was coming home from shopping and as I walked up the stairs towards the front door and I saw Krusty in the window looking at Me! He looked like a real live cat I wasn't thinking much, I just kept looking at him happily' it wasn't until I got inside and realized Krusty's been dead for two days.

I was so happy that he came to give me one last look / goodbye. I will never forget my favorite cat. I hope I get to see him again. He was a Great cat!

My Ouija Experience

Read the article and leave a comment.

In my previous story I told of the experience I had with the spirit of a man in my room when I was living with friends over Christmas of 2008, well my mates and I thought it would be "cool" to try a Ouija Board to find out who he is and why he can't or won't leave.

I have "played" with Ouija before with no results or have had friends pushing the glass, so I jumped on the internet read about the topic to find tell tale signs of bad spirits, what questions to ask and what not to and also how to close a session properly. All we needed then was a Ouija Board so yet again I resorted to the internet found a Parker Brothers Board, printed and laminated it, we got some white candles, some sage and frankincense, we could not find a pure silver coin though... But we went ahead anyway... Aunty D, my friends mum warned us not to do it anywhere in or around her house as there is a bad spirit attached to her witch board and she did not want any more negative energy drawn to the house but being the defiant young adults we are we simply snuck out to the garage and proceeded to go ahead with it there.

There were 4 of us all up, Me, Trevor (who lives there and is very in touch with the other side and can see spirits when there is a lot of energy), Joseph (who had just come back from the Torres Straight Islands and witnessed a lot of black magic) and my younger friend Beth (who was going through trial exams and trying to decide what to do with her life). We decided Beth Would do the Talking as she had the most questions, and Trevor and Joseph rocked off (scissors, paper, and rock) to see who would be the scribe. We set the board up facing Beth and placed 3 white candles around the outside of the board (one in front of the 3 of us touching the board). We opened by saying a non religious prayer I found on the internet with most of the instructions on how to "play". I was expecting absolutely nothing at all to happen as in my previous sessions. After we said the prayer we asked if the any spirits residing in the house that wished to communicate with us. We waited about 1-2mins and just as we were about to ask again it shot across the table to YES so fast that if one of us 3 were pushing/pulling it; it would have flipped the glass because of how close to the edge our fingers were. Next we asked if it was a good spirit, straight away the glass began to move to NO but it was like it was hesitating and it didn't want us to know it was bad/evil. I said we have to close this session as I did not want to communicate with an evil spirit. So we said goodbye and the slowly moved to GOODBYE.

We sat there kind of mind blown in silence for about 15mins before Joseph said "who cares nothing happened, let's try again". So we placed our fingers back on the glass and just as Beth went to read the first line of the prayer the glass jolted then began moving very fast towards Joseph then began to spell H-F-M-V-ST (ST together because the glass landed over the two letters). I got a really bad eerie feeling from this kind of surprised everyone when I suddenly blurted out "we need to close the board NOW and get the f*ck outta here" but as I said that it scared Joseph and he jumped and took his fingers off the glass thinking I had seen something and was about to run. I yelled at him to put his fingers back so he did and I said "WE DO NOT WANT TO TALK ANYMORE AND ARE SAYING GOODBYE" but the glass would not go to goodbye it continued to spell H-F-M-V-ST, H-F-M-V-ST, H-F-M-V-ST over again so I said goodbye in a strong voice and we all forced the glass to goodbye.

My heart was racing after that, as I looked over to Trevor he said we need to leave the garage NOW. When I asked him why he just pointed to the back of the garage, as I turned my head to look I saw a black shadow figure dart behind some storage boxes. That scared me senseless and I ran into the house. We all just sat there trying to describe to each other the different feelings we had and just trying to clarify what just happened.

This happened around a month ago now, and since I've been back there is a presence in the front yard that comes out of the garage, Trevor has seen a man pacing back and forth along the window and Joseph has caught him peering in at him just watching us. I have seen flashes like shadows dart across the window but nothing to the detail of Trev and Jo's.

The most random thing, we had a friend come for a visit and stay the night, she slept on the mattress in the lounge room just below the front window and she awoke during the night to tapping on the window and when she looked out the window she seen a white misty form of a person just standing at the door like they were waiting to be let in... She did not know about the Ouija or the presence out the front. Why he/it decided to show itself to her we do not know. The front door will also open at random when there is no breeze and has even opened in front of Beth and I...WHEN IT WAS DEADLOCKED! I wonder what he wants...

My Old House Haunted!

Read the article and leave a comment.

I have wanted to write this story for a while now but haven't really had the time.

When I was about 6 years old we moved into a housing commission house, right from the time I moved in there I knew there was something creepy about the place.

I am 13 now and have since found out that the people who used to live in the house had a daughter who was repeatedly raped by their next door neighbor; he used to give her speed intravenously so she would be awake all night and torture her to within an inch of her life. She ended up committing suicide, also that day someone gave the guy a hit of battery acid and he died.

Anyway, I remember always feeling uncomfortable like something was watching me; I wouldn't go up stairs if someone wouldn't come with me, and sometimes I would stay up all night scared out of my mind for no apparent reason.

In the room where my sister slept, someone had spray painted writing about the guy who had raped the girl who used to live there, it had been painted over about 50 times in the years we lived there but always seemed to seep back through the paint.

I used to hear what sounded like people walking around on the roof and I used to feel someone crawling up my bed and so did my mother sister, but my brother said he never felt that.

Once my mum told me that I went into sweats and started walking around the house throwing anything I could get my hands on... I still don't remember that.

I used to see big black shapes out of the corner of my eyes and when I would look back there would be nothing there. I would never open my curtains in my room and I used to hate going into my sisters bedroom, I would hate being alone in the house and would not go into the bathroom after it was dark.

We moved from there when I was 11 to a house in a different area, I felt comfortable there but sometimes my things would go missing. I also used to sleep with the radio on, and I know what station I listen to and never change it, the radio used to change over to a station that played old rock songs. I also remember that during Christmas holidays it was about 38*C for a week but would cool dramatically throughout the night so I used to sleep with no blankets, window open and a fan on. I woke up one night at about 4:00am with my window closed, fan off and blanket was back on me, when I asked my mum if it was her she said no, that it was still hot when she went to bed so didn't come into my room to turn the fan off.

There was also other things at different houses that I don't remember because I was pretty young, but I think this is really weird, it seems like every house my family has lived in after I was born had some sort of paranormal activity...

Thank you for reading my story and I feel free to share your thoughts

My Nan

My nan died when I was a few months old. So I never actually met her. One night I was asleep when I heard my name being called out, I woke up with a fright. I sat up ready to get out of bed so I could go into mum's room down the hall because I was scared when I saw something at my door. I thought it might have been a robber so I laid back down quickly and covered my head with my sheets.

A few minutes later I wanted to see if the person had left so I peeked out from under my blankets and it was still there. So I just stared at it hoping it couldn't see me. I realized it was a lady, she had her arms crossed like she was mad staring at me, not moving. It was obvious she wasn't alive. I quickly closed my eyes hoping morning would hurry up and come.

I didn't told mum straight away because I didn't think she would believe me until a few months later, we were talking about ghosts and I told her. She told me to give her a description so I explained that the lady had her arms crossed a dressing-gown on with the last three or so buttons open near the end of it and mum said that it was her mum. I guess my nan had unfinished business that night because I have never seen her again.

Why would she have stood at my door why didn't she come closer to me?

My Mom

August 12th 2000. It was evening, and we were waiting for bad news to ring on our phone. It was something that we were expecting, from the time it was first diagnosed, earlier that year. The phone rang at about 9pm that night. She had passed away quietly with a nurse aid by her side. At least she wasn't alone when she passed...

My mother was diagnosed with cancer in May of 2000. The doctors did not know what type of cancer because the cancer had already spread itself throughout her entire body. It was already at terminal stage when tests revealed that the cancer had eaten its way through her thigh bone. The doctors informed us that she may have 3 years left in her. We weren't prepared with 3 months. My mother was placed in a Hospice which was in the heart of the city. We were half an hour to 45 minutes drive away, north of the city.

One week before her time, my dad mentioned to her, "Should anything happen, do I have your blessing to remarry for companionship?" My mom looked at him and said "Yes..." Nothing more was mentioned after that.

On the night she passed, I said to my husband let's go and see her. We were told we could come into the Hospice anytime during the night and the next day to say Goodbye. It seemed so final. My Dad was staying with us in the house, and he told us, if the phone call came during the night, just to let him know the following morning and he would say his goodbyes then. The kids were already tucked in bed and my husband's cousin offered to watch them while we went to see Mom.

We arrived at the Hospice soon after, and walked into Mom's room. The atmosphere was incredible. It was warm in her room. She was on the bed, propped up in a sitting position with her pillows supporting her. I wish I could say that she looked peaceful, but to tell the truth, she looked so empty. Just a few days ago she was smiling through her pain, now, there was no life left in her body. Her eyes were partly opened and she felt cool to the touch. I suddenly couldn't breathe and burst out of the room. All I could think of was to go... Be as far away as I could. My husband tried to soothe me, calm my breathing down. The nurses asked if I would like a cup of tea. I politely denied their offer and asked my husband if we could go home.

We had parked our car on the street, and as soon as my husband turned the key in the ignition, the motor would sound up but then die. He attempted a few more times to start the motor, but it would not budge. The car didn't have any problems during the week or during that day, so we were puzzled as to why it would not start now. Suddenly it hit me. MOM! It seemed it was her way of telling us not to go yet. But I knew I could not go back into that Hospice and back into that room.

Hubby suggested that we will need to push start the car, so it was my choice to steer and clutch start it up or hop out and push. I offered to push. Our first attempt failed as we reached the end of the street. We pushed the car around to face the other way and made our way up to the other end of the street with my husband doing a co-ordination of ignition, clutch and gears. We must've looked a sight. "Please Mom, let us go!" I cried and as if by some miracle, the car suddenly started up on its own. "Thanks Mom," I whispered to myself. Coincidence? Perhaps.

But remember when I mentioned about Dad asking for Mom's blessing to remarry? Well, after the fiasco of her funeral and grieving, 2 weeks after, my Aunty approached my Dad with surprising news. Apparently, Mom had arranged another wife for Dad. During her last week, she asked my Aunty to find a lady over in the Philippines. All she remembers of this woman is her name and region where she may still be living. Imagine this, they were school mates in high school, and have not seen each other since then.

So, my Mom had no idea about her life, if she were married, had kids or if she was still alive. My Aunty had many contacts over in Phils and it wasn't before too long, they were able to track her down. She was a school teacher, teaching primary school aged children. She still lived at home, taking care of her own mother and had never married! We were blown away by it all.

Soon enough, my Dad and this woman started to contact each other. She then came to Australia to meet us all. How could I describe our first meeting? She was small and slim, like my Mom. She had the same hair style. From afar, one would swear it was my Mom. But the difference between her and my Mother was the affection. She was 10 times more affectionate than my mother was. She opened her arms and her heart to us and her smile lit up the entire room. My mother rarely smiled. The following year, my Dad married the woman. I now, call her Mom and the kids call her grandma.

To top this story off, whether it's coincidence or it would have some big hidden meaning to it all, my two daughters have the same birthday as my Mom. February 5th.

Mom: 5/2/1938

1st daughter: 5/2/1994

2nd daughter: 5/2/2000

If anyone has an idea about numbers or the coincidences that seem to happen during these times, I look forward to reading your comments. God Bless

My Great Grandfather, the Joker

Read the article and leave a comment.

I live with my mum, brother, sister, nan and pop in a two story house, before it was my great grandfather's house, he died, we believe that it's him haunting the house because he was a joker.

Heaps of thing happen here, lights on and off, doors shut them selves, we hear things and see things out the corners of our eyes. The washing machine turns off, a fan turned on by it self things, disappear and reappear in places we have looked, mum sometimes wakes up to some one whispering her name urgently like they are trying to wake her up.

One time, me and my mum were home alone and we heard the garage door close and the door leading to either the laundry or the granny flat close, we were thinking my nan was coming home from shopping and no one was there.

My mum had locked the screen door and the wooden door. Went into the kitchen table (which you can see the door from) and started to read the paper. After a while, she looked up and the doors were open, she looked back down then remembered that she locked them so she went to lock them again, but when she looked again it was closed.

One day, mum was having a nap on the lounge. When she heard a bang, she went to look for the source when she looked in my room. In the middle of it was my Navaho doll with my porcelain doll on top, with its head pointing to the wall with the shelf. Which is impossible considering that if that doll fell it would topple forward and land with its head pointing away. The stuff in front of it would fall, the doll would have to fall diagonally to get to that place and the Navaho doll is at the other end

One time I saw a shadow that was walking right in the middle of the walkway following my mum into the kitchen.

Other stuff has happened but I can't think of it right know.

My Grandma's Old House

Read the article and leave a comment.

I live in Queensland, Australia in a small suburb about twenty minutes from the ocean. Around eight years ago my grandmother decided that she wanted to live closer to us and bought the house next door. I was around six or seven at the time. The house had four bedrooms. The they were separated by the kitchen and living area. There was a small hallway which the main bedroom and a second bedroom were down and the other two rooms came off the living room.

When my parents went away I would always stay with my Grandma. I never liked staying there and asked if instead of sleeping in the bedroom, could I sleep on the couch. My Grandma used to wait until she thought I was asleep and then move me into the bedroom.

I could never sleep there. No matter how hard I tried I used to end up staying awake the whole night waiting for the sun to come up. One night when I finally did get to sleep, something woke me up. I don't know what it was, but when I looked at the doorway I saw the dark shadow of what looked like a tall, thin man. I pulled the blankets over my head and stayed like that until I finally went back to sleep.

My Grandmother moved out of that house several years later and is now living with us. I had convinced myself that what I had seen was my imagination and had not thought about it for years when my cousin came to stay (she is twenty-seven).

She and I were talking about ghosts and other things when she brought up my Grandmother's old house. She told me the following story:

She had been sleeping in the main bedroom, which for some reason my Grandmother had given her to stay in. My grandmother and aunt (my cousin's mother) were down the other end of the house. My cousin woke up, needing to go to the bathroom. She did not like to use the bathroom that connected to the main bedroom because she found it "creepy" so she walked down to the other end of the house.

When she was walking back from the bathroom she thought she heard shuffling footsteps on the carpet behind her, but when she turned there was no one there. She got back into bed and turned over. She then said that she had a weird feeling so she turned onto her back to find someone standing at the foot of her bed. She could not see them very clearly in the dark and thought she had woken her mother.

"Sorry if I woke you" she said to them. The figure did not reply. My cousin took a closer look at the person and realized that it was not her mother, nor my grandmother. She put the blankets over her head and screamed as loudly as she could.

My grandmother and aunt came running into the bedroom to find it empty. When my cousin told them what happened they thought that there was an intruder in the house. They searched the whole house and checked the doors and windows, but found no one, or any signs of forced entry. Before I told my cousin what I had seen I asked her what this figure looked like. She said it was a tall, thin man.

I told my mother of both my cousin's and my experience and she told me that a man had committed suicide in the garage of the house. I never told my cousin that though, because my mother told me that it would scare her too much.

I don't think the ghost wished us any harm, it was just his way of letting us know that he was there.

My Ghostly Experiences

Read the article and leave a comment.

I have a few pieces in one, so I'll start from the beginning.

Last year I was at my dad's house. It was summer and very still and warm. It was night time. I was taking my hair out looking in the mirror on the back of my door. All of a sudden a really cold breeze blew under the door. I was really confused but shrugged it off and went to bed. That night I suddenly woke up for absolutely no reason at all, but was wide awake. All of a sudden my door opened just opened. It didn't just open a little bit, it opened all the way to the wall, and in such a manner that someone had opened it. I could feel that someone had walked in. I couldn't see anything, but could feel it. I bravely got up and went to see if anyone had opened my door to check on me, even though I saw nobody. Everyone was fast asleep. I was way too scared to go back to my own room, so I slept in my brother's room.

The next morning I told my dad of the account and he told me it is known there is a presence in his house. It didn't scare me though, I just thought 'cool'. From then I've thought of this presence as a Casper-like ghost, friendly. I've had 2 other run-ins with this ghost. One when it opened the front door to the wall. I smiled and said 'hey' even though I couldn't see anything or anyone. The other was when I saw a black figure walk into my dad's room. I assumed it was the 'presence'. I also often feel the 'presence' standing over my bed watching me. It freaks me out, especially in the dark because I think there's a real person standing there. The 'presence' also likes itself to be known, and will often flick the light switch in my bedroom, keeping the light off if that makes sense.

Another story is that at the start of this year I did a Ouija board with some of my friends. We placed candles around the board, and used a shot glass as the planchette (I know, should've put salt as well...)

There were about 8 of us, and we opened the board properly, but it wasn't working well at all, so we split up and did 3 at a time. When 3 of my friends were doing it, the rest of us were in a different room. Suddenly one of my friends walks in and says to me "they want you to come in" (they being the ghost) so I got up and walked in. They told me they'd called my grandmother. I sat down and put my finger on the planchette. I asked if it was my grandmother and it quickly went to yes. I then asked where she was and she spelled out 'heaven'. I all of a sudden started balling and left. I know I broke the circle, but didn't know that was bad at the time. My friends closed the board (although I don't know if they did properly) and came into where me and my other friends were. They told the others we'd spoken to my grandmother. One of my friend's who was in with the Ouija sat next to me and couldn't stop shivering. She didn't know why, because she wasn't cold and it was summer.

From this, I understand that I may not have been talking to my grandmother, but I like to believe I was, so please don't ruin that.

The next day I went home and took my board with me. My mum put the board in our garage. Since then, every time I go into my garage I feel like someone is in there. I also sometimes get the feeling someone is in my bedroom. I just get the feeling I am being watched. I also have a balloon in my room, and it sometimes moves around the roof like it is being pulled. It is sitting over a doll I have which my grandmother gave me, and I didn't put the balloon there. I am choosing to believe my grandmother has stuck around and is watching over me, and this is her way of telling me.

I thought I'd share my experiences of ghosts, since they're positive ones to show that positive things can come from the paranormal and not just hauntings.

My Friends Ancestors

This happened to me when I was in year 6, only 12 years old.

I went to sleep over my friend's house that is an indigenous Australian (Aboriginal) and is very in touch with his ancestors.

Well I had to sleep on the floor with a couple of cushions because there was only a single bed in my friend's room.

His bed requires a ladder to get up to and it makes a lot of noise trying to get up there. His mother was single at that time (divorced)

So I fell asleep around 10, and woke up around 4 when something like a really cold hand grabbed my foot, (because my foot was sticking out of the blanket). So I grabbed my phone for some light and looked around the room, there was nothing, my friend was snoring and there was no one at all was in the room.

I ignored it and went back to sleep. About half and hour later I woke up again because I was cold, and as I went to grab the blanket I realized that it was like thrown across the room.

I grabbed it and tried to sleep when the cold hand poked me.

So I finally got some sleep and in the morning I told my friends mum what happened, and she said "That night was the night of my family's reunion"

She also said "My brother used to touch my shoulder when he called me and now he passed away, last night he touched me on the shoulder while I was sleeping"

So if anyone can help me on what I have felt please comment. Thanks.

My First Ghost Hunt Made Me Sick

Read the article and leave a comment.

Since my last story I have started ghost hunting in australia to better understand the paranormal. There are only two of us but we are looking for others to join. This story is about my first ghost hunt which did not go as well as planned. I have only ever told this account to one person and there help and guidance for future hunts has been extraordinary in keeping my partner and I safe.

Some of you may recall my first story Unwanted Party Guest which involved a cottage with a very troubled and violent history behind it. This was the scene of our first ghost hunt. My partner is very religious whereas I am a little skeptical of religion. We arrive at this cottage and start taking some pictures of the surrounding area. Not much came up on these except for an orb or two every know and then.

We then make our way up to the house. My partner crosses her self and says a short prayer before entering. I do absolutely nothing and just walk on in. We walk around the house from room to room taking photos and just keeping an eye out for anything unusual. After taking photos my partner starts asking questions out loud such as "if there are any spirits here please show us a sign". Nothing happens in the living room.

We head for the bedroom where the murders took place and my partner once again asks questions "if there are any spirits here please show yourself". As soon as she finishes talking, I feel a sudden drop in temperature, and it was summer at the time. I ask my partner if she felt it and she said no. I suddenly start to feel nausea and dizzy. My partner notices this and starts to worry. The next thing I know, I'm outside flat on my back looking up at my partners worried face. She told me that I blacked out and she dragged me outside.

For the next week after that I had to miss work because I was always cold and sick. I would wake up from a very strange nightmare and would recall smelling a foul smell just before I wake up and when I wake up I would be sick.

I am now well and have returned to work and have started to be more religious. My partner and I have been on more hunts since which have turned up some great evidence.

My Experiences - To Date

Although, I've always been interested in reading ghost stories, I must admit I have never actually seen a ghost but, I have felt and heard them...

When I was about thirteen years old, I was at home with my older sister and her partner (while my parents were out shopping); they both went downstairs to their room while I stayed upstairs in mine.

About half an hour later I heard talking from the kitchen (which was upstairs) and a cupboard drawer being opened and then banged shut. I of course assumed it was my parents back home so I went out to greet them, only to find the kitchen (and the whole second floor of the house) empty...

I freaked out and spent the rest of the time until my parents did return in my room...

Later on I confessed what I had experienced to my sister and she admitted hearing the drawing bang in the kitchen too and had just assumed it was me.

Another time, after driving past a pretty horrific car accident I felt something grab my hat. I was sitting in the back seat of the car and everyone had their hands in sight. Again, I freaked out.

I have experienced other phenomena but, not really ghost related mostly psychic, I might add those stories later...

Thank you for reading

My Dark Figure

Read the article and leave a comment.

My experience occurred last Sunday night. I was in my bed reading a book for school, when I heard a large thump outside my door. Fist I thought that it was my little brother playing a joke, so I opened my door. For no reason in particular, I looked at the mirror that was directly in front of me. Behind me was a large figure. I ran out of my room and into my kitchen. I hid behind the kitchen table.

First I thought that we were being robbed, so I ran upstairs to my parent's room. I woke them and told my step-dad to come down and have a look. He firstly went into our kitchen and took our large butcher knife. He then told me to get the phone and get ready to call 000. He walked into my room and later came out. He looked around the house- my brother, mum, and my next door neighbors helped. After not finding anything they went back to bed.

I tried to get back to sleep but the figure was standing in the corner of my room. It stepped forward and I screamed. My parents came running and searched the house again. But they didn't find anything. My mother called the police. They checked our house and couldn't find anything.

After about a week, I forgot about my experience and told myself that I must have imagined it. Then one night, I came home late from friend's party. I was sitting on my bed when I noticed that a large book slid forward about 20cm. I stood and pushed it back in place. But as soon as it was back in place, another book slide forward.

I sat back down. I glanced over at my wardrobe. It seemed to be breathing. I ran out of my room and into our dining room. I peered around the corner and saw the figure. It was slowly moving forward towards me. I then heard something whisper in my ear. "I know your there." I screamed and ran into the toilet. I locked the door and turned on the tap. I splashed water on my face trying to calm myself. I looked back up at the mirror and saw the figure standing over me.

I ran into my brother's room and climbed into bed with him. I fell asleep after about five hours watching the door, waiting for the figure to appear.

I am still troubled by the dark figure and many other occurrences including; things sliding forward, voices whispering in my ear, and staring in spots. I need help if you have answer please comment. I was really scared.

My Dad Doesn't Believe In What He Saw?

Read the article and leave a comment.

It was about 3 years ago that my dad was in his bed room with my mum. It was about 1:15am and he woke up from a light being at the end of his bed. He looked down the end of his bed and the lamp that was meant to be on his bed side table was at the end of the bed. He couldn't see exactly what was there but he slowly sat up to look over his bed. He saw a shadow of a woman reading a big book turning the pages very heavily. He lay back down shocked but being my dad was unconvinced of what he saw, so he looked back up and the lady was still there. The lady was still turning pages but there was a wheel of a bike beside the book the lady was reading. My dad went back to bed and the next morning told my mum. She was really creeped out because my grandma was in a wheel chair when she died by hanging herself when my mum was only 9 years old. My mum thinks that the bike wheel was the wheel of her wheel chair and the lady that my dad described sounded more and more like her. That same day mum and dad were looking for the plans book for renovating the house we still live in, but they never found it.

My mum thinks that the book the ghost or spirit was reading was the renovating plans. Mum decided she wasn't going to renovate she thought maybe her mum was trying to tell her someone would get her if she ended up going through with renovations. The weird thing is that my dad still thinks there is a scientific explanation to what happened that night.

I have thought about it over and over but I can't think of anything. I found this site and this is the first story I have posted. I know this one is only what my dad saw but I have seen a hell of a lot more in the downstairs of our house. People on this site I have read go looking for the history of the house. But the strange thing is that there was only ever one other man that lived in our house?
